Barcelona was originally called Barcino by the Carthaginians and later adopted by the Romans. It has a population of over 1.6 million people and its transportation system includes an underground metro, buses, trams, and bike routes. Some of Barcelona's most famous landmarks include Las Ramblas, a central street, Casa Batlló designed by Antoni Gaudi in an art nouveau style, and Camp Nou, the large football stadium that seats 100,000 people for FC Barcelona games.
