PROFILE My career has spanned 30 years (including Apprenticeship). Almost the last 4
years working on a 5th
generation drillship in Angola working as a senior
electrician. Before that I was 4years working on a 6th
generation semi-
submersible drilling rig off shore in Brazil in a Lead Electrician role assisting the
Chief Electrician and also deputising in his absence. I consider myself to be
very capable, versatile and self-motivated with a positive attitude. I am quick to
learn new skills and have the willingness to pass these new skills and knowledge
to others. Throughout my career, I have given my employers 100% commitment
and kept abreast of new procedures, training and methods, enabling me to carry
out my work as efficiently and as safely as possible. I have good
communication skills, with the ability to work on my own or as part of a team.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical installations. Including containment,
cabling systems, control wiring, explosive & flame proof areas.
• Gas & Diesel generation. STX engines.
• UPS & battery systems including testing.

• Supervision of multi skilled trades in an offshore environment.

drilling equipment, i.e. Driller’s console, AC/DC drilling motors and
auxiliaries, NOV Top Drive System, draw works, mud pumps
• ABB liquid cooled thruster and drilling drives VFD control panels,
thruster motors, ballast pumps, control panels and cranes
• Able to follow and comprehend electrical drawings and logic diagrams
when trouble shooting

Senior electrician on a 5th generation drillship West Gemini, West Africa,
Angola.
Brazil February 2009 – FEB.2013
Lead maintenance electrician on the 6th Generation Victoria semi-submersible
drilling rig. Worked on the initial commissioning in DSME shipyard in Okpo,
South Korea to a fully working installation in Brazil.
November 2007 – February 2009
Off Shore on construction work, Brit-Stats for Conoco Phillips. Installation of
trace heating circuits, testing and commissioning of circuits. Maintenance and
inspection on all aspects of electrical work within the installation. Supervisor of
Electrical Technicians on all aspects of installation, gas detection, trace heating,
testing, inspection and commissioning on a new skid for the BG project for the
Armada contractor Amec.

Off Shore working on the Wenlock Project on 23 Alpha for SLP –Client Perenco

Offshore work as Electrical Technician. Involved with the sailing and hook up of
RG6 Jack Up Rig to the Arbroath platform and also work on the Montrose
platform.
Tie-ins in Fire and Gas Systems, PA’s and all other aspects involved in hook
ups.
Installation of new chemical inspection skid and new well installation.
Involved in Risk Assessments, toolbox talks and permit to work systems.
