KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Established relationships within Royal Bank of Canada to build the team with key individuals
• Established the project organization, methodologies and reporting to build and manage a multi
year, $140MM plus program
• Working with my peers in Royal Bank, lead the development of the plan, resource forecasting and
recruitment of the Project Managers, IT and business leads into the organization to manage
multiple initiatives as one program
• Successfully lead the team in the implementation of multiple legacy changes and (3) software
products to deliver the first release on time and budget

Lead team of Solutions Architects, Client Manager and the Self Service delivery staff on creating
solutions for self service delivery for several Financial Institutions.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Participated in the due diligence process on several outsourcing bids for self service solutions
clients
• Led the work to re-define the supplier relationship with 3rd
party suppliers to enhance service
delivery to clients
CANADIAN IMPERIAL BANK OF COMMERCE (CIBC) 1978 - 2002
Senior Vice President, 1998 - 2002
Reporting to the Senior Executive Vice President, was responsible for the creation and delivery of
complex changes and management of teams in Electronic Banking in Canada and
the United States
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Led the design, build, implementation and operations of complex changes in order to increase the
bank’s market share in E-Banking in Canada and United States. This included:
Developing the strategy for the US market to determine feasibility of a retail banking
entry
Negotiating the commercial agreement with a large US retailer
Creating and executing the business plan including the customer proposition and
technology delivery required for launch of the initial 40 sites
Leading the regulatory work package resulting in the approval of the National Bank
license in the US
• Led the project to build the Bank from inception through to successful implementation as the
President and CEO for 2 years achieving the business plan for customers, deposit growth,
locations opened and regulatory compliance.
• Manage the total operating budget of $20M per year
• Worked with the original team to lead the design and creation of the Presidents Choice Financial
capability in Banking and Internet Banking applications
Vice President, 1997 – 1998
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, led the launch and operations of Bank’s internet banking
application
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Led the Development and release of the CIBC PC Banking launch over a private, proprietary
network and the internet creating 2 channels to one internet banking capability
• The capability was so successful in customer adoption and usage measures that it was
recognized as the Canadian leader in PC and Internet banking by Online Bank report and was
ranked 3rd
in North America behind Citibank and Bank of America
• Achieved the 5 year business plan in terms of customers acquired, transactions completed,
positive financial impact to CIBC within the first 2 years of operation

Director, Systems Development, 1995 -1997
Manager, Systems Development, 1993 –1995
Reporting to the Vice President Technology, led large teams of internal systems developers and
external vendor resources creating and re-engineering core banking applications in consultation with
line of business partners
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Led the design, build and successful implementation of the initial PC Banking capability. This
program was completed from start to implementation in 5 months
• Led the design, build and successful implementation of the re-engineering of the ATM channel
and system. This program of 4 projects resulted in the creation of new business functionality in
support of the Bank’s overall retail branch strategy
• Led the re-engineering and implementation of the Investment Products system, resulting in the
automation of the capability to sell and service GIC’s at the branch level
Manager, Production Support, 1990 –1993
Reporting to the Director, Production Services, managed a team of analysts operating the Bank’s
core banking systems supporting Online Banking and VISA processing
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Re-engineered the operation environment to restore service levels for the VISA merchant system,
prior to these changes service levels had been consistently under target for 6 months
• Created and implemented the process utilized for major system recoveries
• Managed the relationship with the line of business partners, reporting monthly on service levels
attained, problem management, program status and upcoming implementations
Manager, Toronto Processing Centre, 1988 – 1990
Reporting to the Director, Toronto Processing Centre, led 3 distinct groups of approximately 300
people within this 24 hour shift operation responsible for delivery of the Canadian and US clearing
and VISA payment and remittance processing
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Automated the output processing to eliminate paper output, saving $1.0MM per year
• Designed and implemented a production pay system, resulting in a 14% increase in productivity
• Restructured the group to eliminate 2 layers of the organization to facilitate and improve
communication
