If youâve

give a try,
there are a
few things
you need to
know about
cigars.
5. â For a novice, itâs always best to begin with a mild cigar because
a strong one would ruin the experience leaving a bitter taste
lingering in your mouth. Besides, mild cigars being cheap, will
not really pinch if youâre not able to enjoy the taste of it or
maybe spoil it by incorrectly cutting it or lighting it the wrong
way.
â Another thing to be remembered is that the cigar should always
be checked for hard of soft spots. Hard spots indicate that the
tobacco has been excessively stuffed and soft spots mean that
there is less tobacco in there. Either way the tobacco is not fit to
be consumed and therefore this check should be made before itâs
brought, unless it can be changed later.
6. There are basically three steps to the correct way of smoking a
cigar. However, itâs the way of performing these steps that
needs to be noted carefully.

7. Clipping the cigar
While the cigar can be cut using a sharp knife or simply poked
on the end to create an outlet for the smoke, itâs always
recommended to use a cigar cutter. Never use your teeth to do it
because it will spoil the wrapping.
The guillotine cutter is the best
although there are many more
stylish varieties available in the
market. Insert about one
twelveth of an inch of the closed
end of the cigar into the cutter
and use a firm push to chop it
off.
8. Lighting
Itâs best to light a cigar using either a matchstick or butane
lighters.
Never let the flame come in direct contact with the tobacco.
Instead use its heat to light the cigar by keeping it at a distance
slightly away from the cigar. Keep rotating it around along with
puffing, till the entire lower edge of the cigar is lighted
completely.
9. The Correct Way of Smoking
The apt way of smoking is by filling your mouth with the smoke,
tasting it and then blowing it out. Smoke should never be inhaled
as it will leave your mouth bitter.
Also neither should a cigar be smoked
hard as this will burn it out faster nor
should it be smoked so slow that the cigar
dies out.
Having a drink , preferably a Scotch to accompany your cigar
can better the experience of cigar smoking manifold.
