3. What is an ILP? A tool that enables the learner to state their learning goals (commitment), document strengths & weaknesses, set targets to achieve their goals(s) & reflect on progress. The learners' learning coach or tutor(s) can also set targets & record outcomes of progress review conversations. An ILP IS a communication method between learners and teaching and support staff An ILP IS NOT a course planner or assessment tracking device
4. NMIT Targets 2011 will see 80% of full-time learners (levels 1-5) develop an individual learning plan (ILP). It is envisaged that learners will be assigned a Learning Coach with whom they will have regular learning conversations to review/update their ILP. NMIT is currently working on linking the ILP to our Management Information System and offering learner’s electronic access to take ownership of their plan.
