2. Pixel Art
• Pixel art is a form of digital art, created through the
use of raster graphics software, where images are
edited on the pixel level. Graphics in most old (or
relatively limited) computer and video games,
graphing calculator games, and many mobile phone
games are mostly pixel art.
3. Concept Art
• Concept art is a form of illustration where
the main goal is to convey a visual
representation of a design, idea, and/or
mood for use in films, video games,
animation, or comic books before it is put
into the final product. Concept art is also
referred to as visual development and/or
concept design. This term can also be applied
to retail design, set design, fashion design
and architectural design.
4. Texture Art
• In the visual arts, texture is the perceived surface quality of a work of art. It is an
element of two-dimensional and three-dimensional design and is distinguished by
its perceived visual and physical properties. Use of texture, along with other
elements of design, can convey a variety of messages and emotions.
• Physical texture, also known as actual texture or tactile texture, are the actual
variations upon a surface.
• Visual texture is the illusion of having physical texture. Every material and every
support surface has its own visual texture and needs to be taken into
consideration before creating a composition.
5. Background Graphics
• Many early graphics chips had true spriting use capabilities in
which the sprite images were integrated into the screen,
often with priority control with respect to the background
graphics, at the time the video signal was being generated by
the graphics chip.
6. Print Media Art
• Print Media Art is used to put pictures of certain pictures onto
cardboard boxes and other packaging materials to show or
give a clue as to what is inside the packaging, like a disc with a
bunch of manuals for the disc’s content, some new hardware,
etc.
