“Look through the centuries”
First object will be The Golden Gate of Kiev. It
is a historic gateway in the ancient city walls
of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. It was
reputedly modeled on the Golden Gate of
Constantinople, from which it took its name.
You will examine magnificent mosaics and
frescoes of St. Sophia Cathedral the oldest
temple in the Eastern Slavonic states built in the
beginning of XI c. to glorify the victory of Prince
Yaroslav the Wise over Pechenegs’ tribes. You
will enjoy amazing view of two golden-domed
monastery complexes while walking along
Sophiiska and Mykhailivska Squares.
Monument to Prince Vladimir, the Baptist of
Rus, is located at the park of Vladimirskaya
Gorka. St. Vladimir’s figure rises above steep
Dnieper bank. Prince holds a cross in the right
hand and a princely cap in the left
Monument to Bogdan Khmelnitsky is most
known city monument, an original symbol of Kiev. It is put up in honour of hetman Bogdan
Khmelnitsky, who went down in history of Ukraine as an outstanding commander, statesman,
headed the revolt of Ukrainian people against Rech Pospolitaya rule. Bogdan Khmelnitsky is
also known for Pereyaslavskaya Rada that made Moskovia and Ukraine allies.

Kiev Pechersk Lavra
The name "Pechersk" comes from the word
"cave" that were found in the area in which the
first monks settled. Kilometers of caves contain
over 200 relics of the holy man.
The monks of Kiev-Pechersk monastery and
above all hermits, they had a different morality.
It attracted in the Pechersk Lavra and
distinguished people. The monastery became
the original Academy of Orthodox hierarchs.
Lavra - this honorary title that was given very large and important monasteries. Most of the
buildings of the Monastery were at the XII-XIII centuries and is an excellent example of
Ukrainian Baroque style in architecture.
On the territory of monastery there are several historical and cultural museums of Ukraine,
including the famous Museum of Historical Treasures (Scythian Gold Museum), and the
museum of miniatures, museum
typography, decorative folk art, music,
theater and film, exhibitions of private
collections. A special exhibition dedicated
to the history of the caves.
The high right bank of the Dnipro crowned
with golden domes of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra

cradle of monasticism in Rus and the

St. Sophia Cathedral
St. Sophia's Cathedral (1037) is the
most vivid example of the Old Rus
architecture and monumental art for
this place, was built and decorated
when the state of Kyiv Rus was living
through the peak of its prosperity.
Here grand princes were crowned
and buried, formal ceremonies and
receptions of envoys were help, the
first known library in ancient Rus and
the first school for boys and girls
were founded by Yaroslav the Wise.

Vydubitsky Monastery
Vydubitsky Monastery is
a Monastery, placed at
the bank of the Dnieper,
in Vidubichi. The name of
the land is associated
with the legend of pagan
god Perun, dumped into
the river by Prince
Vladimir that emerged
("vydybav") on shore
here. But there is another
version, according to
which the tract derives its
name from the crossing that existed in the ancient site of the present monastery. Used for
ferrying boats called "oaks", made from oak barrels. Perhaps a Vidubichi name was given by
ancient underground monastery, which later was able to "vydybaty" on the surface.
Vydubitsky monastery was founded in the tenth century by son of Yaroslav the Wise, Prince of
Kiev Vsevolod. St. Michael, which became the main church of the monastery, was laid in 1070,
it looked like a cross-domed church that had three altars. The architectural complex of the
monastery is surrounded by hills on which grow relict plants of the National Botanic Gardens.
On the west side one can enjoy fantastic views of the Dnieper.
Excursion to Pirogovo
A national museum, which preserved the culture of
Ukrainian people, is located in the suburbs of town
Pirogivo. Three hundred ancient rural huts, collected from
all over Ukraine can be seen in Pirogovo. The majority of
them were moved to the museum and then reconstructed.
Huts, wooden churches, water and wind mills, also clothes,
kitchen utensils dating back to the period of 17th
beginning
of the 20th
century give to every visitor a realistic
impression of the travel in time.

Aircraft museum
This is one of the greatest museums in the capital - the Aircraft Museum. Guest will be able to
see the very helicopter with vertical flight, the first soviet passenger liner. The only collection
of nuclear bombers Tu-22 in the world is also here as well as the airplane from the film «Old
men go to fight». It is really the most interesting museum! More than 70 machines are placed
on the territory of 14 hectares - airplanes, helicopters, rockets, engines lie and an armament
is exhibited. The exhibits of the Museum are placed according to several principles –
according to designer bureaus, to themes (for example «Marine aviation») and to “the place
in history» - the serial airplanes, which became symbols of the epoch. The Aircraft Museum is
filled up regularly – all new types of airplanes are restored in his hangars. There are a great
number of possibilities for excursion. Visiting salons of range of fighting and civil machines is
foreseen.

National museum of the history of Ukraine in the Second
World War
Memorial complex are aimed at helping people to understand
origins of tragedies of wars and showing ways to prevent them
uncover the historical truth about the sacrifice and heroism of the
Ukrainian people in the struggle against Nazism and promote
patriotic upbringing of citizens, particularly young people.
The museum was found in 1973 and
combines the Museum building, the
Motherland statue (62 meters high), gallery
of sculpture expositions, commemorating
the heroes of the battlefields, the Glory Cup
(16 m diameter), and the exhibition of the
arms from the World War II time. The main
display is located in the area of 5.000 m and
counts more than 12.000 relics. You can find
here numerous exhibits of documents of
military commanders, collection of orders,
medals and letters.

The Kyivan Rus Park
Ancient Kiev in "The Kievan Rus Park" is a unique reconstruction of one of the most famous
and at the same time the most mysterious medieval city of the Eastern Europe – Ancient Kiev
of the V-XIII centuries, the capital of the greatest country - Kievan Rus. It is being reconstructed
in the size of its historical center known as Detinets of Kiev or the city of Vladimir in its real
scale 1:1, taking into consideration the modern science knowledge. For the first time in the
mankind’s history, the unique atmosphere of Ancient Kiev and the Kievan Rus is being
recreated.

The tragedy, as a result of which has suffered not one
generation; the tragedy, which has taken away lifes
many thousand people; tragedy, after which for one
day the young city Prypiat - became "city - phantom"
on nearest 600 years …The fact-finding tour in
Chernobyl begins from Kiev, about 09:00 to you will

alteration of venues and the reduction of numbers from that listed above. Prices are based on anticipated
numbers of guests. Rates may increase and/or services/venues may need to be changed if numbers should
increase or decrease. Any changes in minimum or maximum numbers may result in re-costing of services.
