TRAINING
 Training is concerned with developing a particular
skill to a desired standard by instruction and
practice.
 Training is a highly useful tool that can bring an
employee into a position where they can do their
job correctly, effectively, and conscientiously.
 Training is the act of increasing the knowledge
and skill of an employee for doing a particular job.
DEVELOPMENT
 Development refers to the overall development of
the individual for the future.
 It is a continuous process.
 It aims in total development of personality .
 Development changes the mindset of the
employees and makes them more challenging or
competing.
 Development is never ending process.

 Job Rotation
In this trainee is transferred to another
department to gain experience and knowledge. It
also help in better understanding the problem of
other department and people.
 Job Instruction
In this trainer explains the way of doing the
jobs to the trainee and in case of mistakes,
corrects the trainee.
 Internship training
In this students from the colleges receive this
type of training for a small stipend.
 Mentoring
In this a more experienced or more
knowledgeable person helps to guide a less
experienced or less knowledgeable person.
 Coaching
The trainee is placed under a particular
supervisor who functions as a coach in
training and provides feedback to the
trainee.
OFF THE JOB
 Vestibule Training
This training method attempt to duplicate on-the-job-
situation in a company classroom .This method is
very expensive. It is conducted to give the real feel to
the trainees, that they would be experiencing at the
actual plant.
 Management Games
The trainees are divided into groups and then they
are presented with the simulated marketplace or the
situations, wherein they are required to apply their
learning and solve the problems accordingly.
 Case Studies
Trainees are give problems or situations in
case study where they required to find solutions
as per their learning.
 Conferences
A meeting of several people to discuss any
subject or matter is called conference. Each
participant contributes by analyzing and
discussing various issues related to the topic.
 Lectures
The trainees are given lectures about the job
requirements and the necessary skills required
for implementing the job. It is useful for mass
