Purpose Development History:
Harvard business professor ‘Clayton Christensen’ is the brainchild behind the phrase disruptive
innovation. He describes it as innovation that helps create a new market and value network,
and eventually disrupts an existing market and value network (over a few years or
decades), displacing an earlier technology.
In an interview with Harvard Business Review, he described how the computer went from a
main frame in which only large corporations could afford, to an affordable technology that’s
carried in the pockets of billions of people.
Purpose is a topic that has survived for years without any changes to address the plight of
the human soul that create barriers for existence and performance. As a result, its value
beyond gifts and talents has remained under the radar. Individuals are still torn between
their appetite for power and purpose, which has created dysfunctions that interrupt one’s
quest for achievement. Without insight on how to feed the appetite for purpose, the appetite
for power becomes the ruling force that undermines the purpose of humanity. As a result,
only a select few experience the full spectrum of purpose when it comes to achievement.

For years individuals have confined why they are here on the earth to their Gifts and Talents.
