2. There are many events in scripture that have profound
significance with respect to Gods accommodations for man
as a result of sin. The exceptions in scripture are one time
events that have only occurred once, the following are
among the most significant.
Creation — At Mount Sinai God told the nation of
Israel, “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that in them is” (Exodus 20:11). God created all
things — one time. (Genesis 1)
The Virgin Birth of Jesus — Isaiah the prophet had predicted
this in 700 B.C. (Isaiah 7:14), a virgin gave birth to a son and His
name was called “Emmanuel.” (Matthew 1:20-23). The virgin
birth of Jesus was no accident, (Luke 1:35). This miraculous
event, was a one-time event that will never be repeated. The
Lord did it only once.
The Sacrifice of Jesus — During the time the Law of Moses
was in effect, the Levitical priests stood “daily ministering
and offering oftentimes the same animal sacrifices, which
can never take away sins” (Hebrews 10:11).
There is absolutely no way to count all the animal sacrifices
that were offered under the old covenant. In great contrast to
that system, Jesus ‘sacrifice covered all sins for ever.
Hebrews 10:12
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right
hand of God;
One sacrifice!
(Hebrews 7:27)
3. Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins,
and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
There was no need for Him to repeat it. God had it planned
before the foundation of the world (1 Peter 1:19-20; Revelation 13:8).
Noah and the Flood - Genesis 6.1—9.17
The Tower of Babel - Genesis 11.1-9
The Exodus from Egypt - Exodus 3.1—15.21
The Holy Spirit Comes on Pentecost - Acts 2.1-47
Satan arguing over Moses’ body with Michael - Jude 9
Jude 9
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of
Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
The resurrection of many people in Jerusalem after Jesus’
resurrection. - Matthew 27:51-53
War in Heaven
The advent of the possibility of sin existing in Heaven is
supported by the events surrounding Lucifer and the war in
Heaven.
Ezekiel 28:13-19
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the
sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the
emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes
was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the
holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was
found in thee.
16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence,
and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and
I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
4. 17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by
reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that
they may behold thee.
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity
of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee,
and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a
terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
Isaiah 14:12-22
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut
down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne
above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of
the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the
man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not
the house of his prisoners?
18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of
those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as
a carcase trodden under feet.
20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land,
and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
Revelation 12:7-8
7 “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and
the dragon fought and his angels,
8 and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which
deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out
with him.”
1/3 of the Angels being cast out of Heaven
Revelation 12:3-4
5. 3 “And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having
seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the
earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to
devour her child as soon as it was born. “
The creation of the foundations of the Earth
Job 38
God created all the elements necessary to support life on Earth prior to placing
life on the planet.
The creation of all life on the Earth
Genesis 1:1-31
Noah and the flood
Genesis 6:7-22
Elijah and Enoch being translated
Genesis 5:23-24
23 “and all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 and Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.”
Hebrews 11:5
“By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because
God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased
God.”
Elijah
2 Kings 2:10-12
10 “And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am
taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a
chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a
whirlwind into heaven.
12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the
horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent
them in two pieces.”
6. Hebrews 9:27
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”
These are the only two people to have not seen death in a
typical human lifetime, even in consideration of the lives of
those who lived during antiquity for hundreds of years.
The Burial of Moses by God Himself
Deuteronomy 34:4-6
4 “And the Lord said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac,
and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine
eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.
5 So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word
of the Lord.
6 And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Beth-peor: but no
man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.”
The Son of God coming in the flesh
Luke 1:26-33
26 “And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee,
named Nazareth,
27 to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the
virgin’s name was Mary.
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the
Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what
manner of salutation this should be.
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his
name JESUS.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall
give unto him the throne of his father David:
33 and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no
end.”
The Transfiguration
Matthew 17:1-3
7. 1 “And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them
up into an high mountain apart,
2 and was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment
was white as the light.
3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.”
Man in Heaven
Isaiah 65:17
“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be
remembered, nor come into mind.”
Revelation 21:1-3
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were
passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with
men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself
shall be with them, and be their God.”
Man was never intended to be in Heaven, it is an
accommodation that God made for man because of sin. Man
belongs on earth, where God will be with men in the end.
Man in Hell
Matthew 25:40-41
40 “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye
have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into
everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:”
Jesus makes the statement that the lake of fire was created
for the devil and his angels, NOT man.
The Rapture
1 Thessalonians 4:13-17
8. 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep,
that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus
will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain
unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
The False Prophet and Anti-Christ being thrown into the
Lake of Fire alive
Rev 20:20
“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before
him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that
worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with
brimstone.”
To get to the lake of fire, one must go to Hell first, be judged
and then sent to the Lake of Fire. These two skip all the
ordered steps of the final judgment including the advent of
physical death.
Revelation 20:11-15
11 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and
the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and
another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those
things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the
dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
What makes these events of importance is the realization of
the completeness of the way God makes accommodations,
9. they are systematic and as compete as any aspect of Gods
creations.
The judgment for the Anti Christ and False Prophet is
planned thousands of years in advance, and to men it is
prophetic as is the case of many of these biblical
observations.
In this, we can see more clearly the character of God, the
way he sees man and most importantly the capacity of His
love for us.
