Get Certified
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will require bidders to make good
faith efforts to meet DBE participation goals for the Dulles Metrorail Phase 2 project
with firms that are DBE certified by the Virginia Unified Certification Program (UCP).

With DMC, numerous subcontracting opportunities may be available to DBE certified
firms.

DBE status is not a guarantee of work, but assures certified firms a fair opportunity to
compete for work.

First Obtain DBE Certification in Your Home State:
You must first obtain DBE certification in your home state from the UCP agency in

that state before applying for certification in another state.

Your home state is the state where your firm's headquarters is physically located and
where your firm is licensed to conduct business
                                       business.

The UCP will review your completed application and other required documentation
such as ownership, control and financial and managerial records to determine if your
                   p,                                   g                       y
firm can be certified. An on site visit is also required.

If you are a certified DBE in your home state (““State A””) and seek certification in
another state (““State B””) you must provide State B with a copy of your certification
document from State A.

A great marketing tool!
DMC is actively looking for DBE certified companies to fulfill DBE participation goals that will be established
for the Dulles Phase 2 Metrorail project.

DBE certified companies can access contracts and subcontracts that are worth a few thousand dollars to
several millions of dollars.
DBE certified companies are able to bid on contracts with airports various highway agencies transit
                                                           airports,                  agencies,
authorities and other state agencies that receive federal funding from the U.S. Department of
Transportation for certain projects, such as building and designing railroads, airports, bridges, roads and
ports.

the certification(s) a firm may have under local programs in your state or county jurisdiction. Firms can
only participate in federally funded projects as DBEs if they are certified as DBEs in accordance with the

Certification as a DBE provides greater exposure f work opportunities. Once certified, b

information for all certified DBEs appears in the DBE Directories in each state where a firm is certified. This
database/reference manual is widely used by contractors and local and state agencies seeking to do business
with DBEs.

Get Certified The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will require bidders to make good faith efforts to meet DBE participation goals for the Dulles Metrorail Phase 2 project with firms that are DBE certified by the Virginia Unified Certification Program (UCP). With DMC, numerous subcontracting opportunities may be available to DBE certified firms. firms DBE status is not a guarantee of work, but assures certified firms a fair opportunity to compete for work. First Obtain DBE Certification in Your Home State: You must first obtain DBE certification in your home state from the UCP agency in y g y that state before applying for certification in another state. Your home state is the state where your firm's headquarters is physically located and where your firm is licensed to conduct business business. The UCP will review your completed application and other required documentation such as ownership, control and financial and managerial records to determine if your p, g y firm can be certified. An on site visit is also required. If you are a certified DBE in your home state (““State A””) and seek certification in another state (““State B””) you must provide State B with a copy of your certification document from State A. DMC is actively looking for DBE certified companies to fulfill DBE participation goals that will be established for the Dulles Phase 2 Metrorail project. f th D ll Ph M t il j t DBE certified companies can access contracts and subcontracts that are worth a few thousand dollars to several millions of dollars. DBE certified companies are able to bid on contracts with airports various highway agencies transit airports, agencies, authorities and other state agencies that receive federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation for certain projects, such as building and designing railroads, airports, bridges, roads and ports.
