• Communicate, Network, Publish: three practices that
play a crucial role in our lives, development and success
in our contemporary hyper-communicative world.
• The Postgraduate Program in Communication and
new Journalism at the Open University of Cyprus, aims
to satisfy this particular imperative need for knowledge
and effectiveness in utilizing the Media as well as in
creating communication strategies and tactics by
combining a theoretical prospective with the
required practical training.
• Its main goal is to offer substantial and useful knowledge
in communication, networking and publishing– in other
words, the enriched new version of journalism.

as well as all aspects of what is known as human
communication in both micro and macro scale.
• The intended result is students’ solid professional
training, empowerment and advancement, by
securing them new options concerning
employability and all aspects of their social

Understands the basic principles of the new forms
of communication and journalism, gains valuable
knowledge of new tools and media and is trained in
proper argumentation, but also in documenting
what he/she publishes or broadcasts.

possibility to get a second postgraduate degree in communication and
journalism specialties.
• Being a pioneer in Cypriot and Greek academic world, OUC and the
MSc in Communication and New Journalism focus on students’
high-level professional training, the Programme aspires to provide
students with all required academic qualifications so that when they
enter the labor market, they will have acquired global knowledge in
these two areas as well as strong competitive advantage.

the freedom of speech and expression
