Update on WP4 Core HTA
• Two Core HTAs are ongoing
– 3 genetic tests (uPA/PA1 – MammaPrint® – OncotypeDx) in the
management of Breast Cancer
– Abdominal Aorta Aneurysm Screening
• First training workshop on HTA Core Model
Electronic Tool in October was a success
– Next in HTAi Bilbao June 2012
• Policies for the use of HTA Core Model: Survey
completed, currently being analysed
• Screening model (third HTA Core Model
application) public consultation ended Nov 30!

facilitating evidence generation on new HT

information & facilitate collaboration on
additional evidence generation


EVIDENT Database
• Content = information on:
– health technologies (assessment status, evidence gaps, research
questions, required additional studies, coverage decision status)
– studies (request, initial development, protocols, results, PICO
structure)

• scope:
– all types of technologies (drugs, devices, procedures)
– studies requested by European HTA bodies following a HTA,
– studies in a very early stage of development

• goal:
– promote European collaboration in conducting studies
– facilitate generation of further evidence (coherent mass of data)
– enable global analysis of consistent results


Data submission process

1. HTA body enters information on evidence gaps and
consequent Additional Data Collection (ADC) in EVIDENT
>To promote collaboration, information on studies should be
entered at the earliest stage possible (while still in
development)
2. Alert sent to all database users informing of a new entry
3. All users are asked to input the minimum set of information
• on the related technology and related HTA process
• on similar studies if requested or planned.
