Protects your child from
Hib disease, which can
cause lifelong disability
and be deadly. Protects
your child from the most
common type of Hib
disease, meningitis (an
infection of the lining of
the brain and spinal cord).
Protects against diphtheria,
which can be very serious and
even deadly, as well as
tetanus, and whooping cough
(pertussis). Prevents your
child from developing a thick
coating in the back of the
nose or throat from diphtheria
that can make it hard to
breathe or swallow.
This vaccine is given as a
single dose vaccine and has
been found to be safe and
protective against Ebola virus
(species Zaire ebolavirus) only,
which has caused the largest
and most deadly Ebola
outbreaks to date. This is the
first FDA-approved vaccine
for an ebolavirus.
