  3. 3. Kemba Walker's Statistical Legacy with the Charlotte Hornets The Charlotte Hornets joined the National Basketball Association (NBA) as an expansion team following the 1987-1988 season. Over the course of 30 seasons, the team has fielded a number of talented players, though none has matched the productivity of Kemba Walker, the franchise’s overall most accomplished player.
  4. 4. Kemba Walker's Statistical Legacy with the Charlotte Hornets Walker, a point guard out of the University of Connecticut, joined the Hornets as the 9th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. Unlike some lottery picks, Walker did not make an immediate impact on the court. The guard averaged 12.1 points on 36 percent shooting in his first season, as Charlotte won just seven games, the worst record in league history. As Walker settled into the pro game, however, the team’s fortunes quickly improved.

Kemba Walker's Statistical Legacy with the Charlotte Hornets The Hornet's tripled their win count in 2012-2013 and won 43 games the following season, during which time Walker's scoring improved to 17.7 points on approximately 40 percent shooting. He improved in virtually all statistical categories over his first three years in the league, and while both the team and Walker endured a lackluster 2014-2015 campaign, the Hornets went 48-34 the following season. It represented the most wins for the franchise, which fell to the Miami Heat in a hotly contested playoff series, in 16 years.

He holds countless additional franchise records, including the most made field goals in every category and wins over replacement player (VORP).
