Valencia has an international airport that makes the city well connected with
the most of the cities in Europe. It’s the third largest city in the country and where
numerous international fairs, exhibitions, shows and concerts in Valencia are held.

After hosting the 32nd edition of the America’s Cup Regatta, Valencia has be-
come one of the principal tourist destinations of Europe and a cosmopolitan
metropolis where one can enjoy a great deal of entertainment and culture. The
fast cars of Formula One have also sped through its streets in a unique circuit
linking the sea and its port area to the emblematic City of Arts and Sciences, an
architectural and cultural symbol of Valencia.
CULTURAL/RECREATIONAL:

The province of Valencia is the largest of the three which make up the Valencian
Community. It is situated in the centre of the Spanish Mediterranean coast oppo-
site the Balearic Islands and equidistant from the country’s two major decision-
taking centres: Madrid and Barcelona. It overlooks the spacious Gulf of Valencia
and is skirted by a group of mountains and rolling plains that lead to the lands

patterns of social behaviour.
Valencia is the administrative capital of the Valencian Community and the most
densely populated town as well. Sightseeing around the city begins in the Old
Quarter. Until the mid-nineteenth century, it was defended by a wall. Still standing
as proof are the graceful Torres de Serranos, the spacious Torres de Quart and
some remains of the apron all in the basement of the Valencia Institute of Modern
Arts. The most outstanding artistic heritage are found in the districts of Seu and
Xerea, where the marks left by the Romans lie hidden beneath Arab ruins and
modern churches and palaces.
The Mercat district took shape around the com-
mercial life of the city’s inhabitants. Accordingly,
its two most emblematic buildings are used for
trading purposes. The Gothic building of La
Lonja, declared by UNESCO as a heritage of
humanity, features a beautiful columned room

broad landscaped thoroughfares and countless instances of modernist architec-

Valencia Language College offers a wide variety of courses. All the programs are
designed carefully, and pass intensive quality controls. Our teachers approach
to preparing lessons is based on the students needs, goals and interests, as well
as on their own learning abilities.
We keep the number of students per class, low, (minimum 3 and maximum 10), so
that teachers can meet the needs of each and every one of them, individually.
The class materials (texts, articles, videos, songs) are always tailored to the level

our main objectives is to encourage all students to make use of the ICT facilities
in the classrooms, whilst teaching and learning Spanish, such as online sourcing,
blogging and social networking.
In addition, our teachers make use of the “Spanish Virtual Classroom” (AVE),
created by the Instituto Cervantes, to promote this purpose. There are also in-
lesson plans and after school activities in which the students are able to take
part in, to support the course offered by the school and to create a happy and

amount will be kept by the school.

during the current year for a possible
course at a later date. After the end of
the current year this amount will be kept
by the school.
In cancellations made less than 15
days before the course starts, the
school will refund the student just 60%

later date. After the end of the current
year this amount will be kept by the
school.

should have an international health
insurance policy valid for Spain.
This clause applies to all the courses in
general:
Maximum number of students per class
is 10, minimum is 3. If the number of stu-
dents per class is less than 3, the school
has the right to reduce the number of
class lessons to half the total (because
this is basically like private lessons).
If the student does not want to accept
this agreement, he/she will only have the
right to be refunded the corresponding
amount of the reduced lessons.
Examples of course reductions:
INTENSIVE COURSE
The INTENSIVE Course consists of 20
lessons of 50 minutes per week. The
reduction of 20 weekly lessons of
intensive course, of 50 minutes each
(in total 1.000 minutes), would result
in half the total: 500 weekly minutes,
divided in two lessons of 50 minutes
per day.
D.E.L.E. COURSE
The D.E.L.E course consists of 25 les-
sons per week focused on the D.E.L.E.
exam.
The reduction of the 25 weekly spe-
each (in total 1250 minutes), would
result in half the total: 625 minutes, di-
vided in 12,5 lessons per week. That
is 2,5 lessons of 50 minutes per day.
SUPERINTENSIVE COURSE
The SUPERINTENSIVE course consists
of 20 lessons of intensive course per
week + 10 weekly lessons focused
on conversation and pronuncia-
tion. The reduction of the 10 weekly
pronunciation, of 50 minutes each (in
total 500 minutes), would result in half
the total: 250 minutes, divided in 1
lesson of 50 minutes per day.
There will be no lessons on public
holidays.
You can check dates on this manual.
The lessons missed out due to a
public holiday will be made up within
the same week.
Valencia Language College ex-
-
rectly all class schedules, respecting
thus the rest of students.

send to us the level test at least one
week before the start of the course.
