2. So what?
What implications do these ideas have?
We have to:
engage the children
be inspirational
be enthusiastic in out teaching
be prepared to change our teaching practices
listen to children’s voices
children as teachers & learners
model and teach the key competencies
use key competencies as the umbrella
plan from the key competencies
3. What now?
What do we want to do now? How can
we link the ideas to e-learning?
We want:
to adopt an inquiry approach in our classroom
programmes
drive learning from the key competencies –
focusing on skills not topics
look at school wide planning, for example;
key competencies big picture contexts
embed and strengthen the school values through
the key competences
develop student evaluation of their own learning
have student experts
use the coaching model for appraisal
our students to see fun, enthusiasm, spontaneity
and positivity
quality dialogue between all
4. analysis of how to best access technology for
example;
1. What new technology would we like to use? (For
example; smart table etc.)
2. COWS or computer “pods’ to travel to different
rooms for use.
3. Dismantle the e-space and place the computers into
classrooms
What are implications for the above ideas – cost,
wiring, knowledge, best usage etc.
What now? The next step for Tahunanui School is to
collectively select some of the above ideas to develop.
