ARTSDERBYSHIRE WEBSITE
PLACES AND SPACES PAGE
As a volunteer for
Derbyshire County Council,
I worked within the Arts
Derbyshire team to write,
produce and edit articles for
the ArtsDerbyshire website.
One of the many projects I
have worked on, the Places
& Spaces page was
commissioned to me from
the very beginning, giving
me creative freedom with
the copy and images as well
as researching galleries and
studios within the region
and liaising with their
owners or managers.
This was a fantastic project
to be in control of and I
thoroughly enjoyed every
aspect of the process.
The Derwent Gallery
The Derwent Gallery is set in the beautiful Peak District
countryside close to Chatsworth House and Stanage Edge. We
showcase and sell images that relate directly to the landscape
we are privileged to be situated in. All of the exhibited paintings in
the gallery are local landscapes and most of the artists are from
the local area and have come to us to display their work as we
live and work alongside each other. The Derwent Gallery setup is
idyllic, from the backdrop to the displays inside and the hard work
that the gallery and the artists go to make it all a pleasure to visit
and become a part of.
Gallery 52
Gallery 52 is situated in an old cow shed in Brailsford, presenting
a wide variety of art, sculpture, ceramics and accessories. We
offer a relaxed atmosphere for customers to look at and enjoy our
wide range of arts and crafts and should you feel that you want to
take part of your experience home with you, we offer prices from
as little as a couple of pounds.
Harrington Mill Studios
Harrington Mill Studios is an exhibition space set within a working
studio. The complex boasts 18 artistsʼ studios and an exhibition
space which has helped to raise the profile of the studios by
participating in art exchanges with artists from Sweden, Chicago
and Korea. 2012 was an exciting year for Harrington Mill
Studios, with showcases in Seoul, South Korea and artist Rose
Pritchard from Chicago exhibiting at HMS in May.

REMEMBER THE NAME LTD
CONTENT FOR LIVE SHEFFIELD MAGAZINE
I worked for
Remember the
Name Ltd as an
Editorial Assistant
as part of a work
experience
placement and was
assigned to
research, write and
edit copy for a bimonthly lifestyle
magazine called Live
Sheffield. Working in
a small team gave
me a lot of
responsibility and
the opportunity to
really develop my
creative skills.
This was a brilliant
first experience of
working in a
publishing
environment and my
work was extremely
well received by the
editor and subeditor.

JOBSTEPS LTD
ANNUAL REPORT 2011-2012
While volunteering for
Autism Plus in Sheffield one
of my projects was to work
with their sister company,
Jobsteps Employment
Services Ltd, to write and
produce their first annual
report.
In order to do this I had to
first research and
understand a complex
business structure before
translating this into concise
summaries of each element
of the company.
I also compiled other
sourced elements such as
the company history,
Chairman’s summary and
case studies.
The finished report was
extremely well received
amongst the company
directors and my colleagues
and I was subsequently
hired to work on a major
bidding project.

YOUNG WOMENʼS HOUSING PROJECT
ANNUAL REPORT 2011-2012
I was hired as a
freelance writer to write
the annual report for a
charity in Sheffield
called the Young
Womenʼs Housing
Project. In this case the
client required the
report producing from
scratch, as their
previous reports had
been quite flat and plain.
I was given complete
creative freedom on this
project and I decided to
bring some of their
existing imagery (for
example the sunflowers
and the house) into the
copy and liven up the
entire document.
The project works to rehouse young women
and help them to reestablish themselves in
the community, and I felt
that this should be
presented in a brighter
manner.
As well as writing the
copy I also assisted with
the design of the
document and made the projectʼs story
more positive and punchy.
The report was required for the Annual
General Meeting where it was
extremely well received.

JADU
PRODUCT GUIDE AND SALES BROCHURE
In my current role as
Copywriter at Liquid
Agency, my first project
was to rewrite and
personalise this sales
brochure for Jadu
Content Management
Systems.
This required change in
tone of voice and
messaging and to
personalise the text
towards specific
audiences, including
Education and
Government.
This was a lovely
project and allowed me
to display my writing
skills to the maximum.

MIDLAND HR
MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS CAMPAIGN
Since the beginning of my
employment at Liquid
Agency, I have been
involved in writing copy
for the marketing and
communications
campaign for MidlandHR.
I have been involved in
both the internal and
external launch, meaning I
have really been able to
develop a wide range of
writing skills, having
written content for a
service brochure, internal
signage and merchandise
as well as writing a lot of
copy for advertisements
and blogs.
The range of work that is
required for this client has
been really enjoyable and
has allowed me to use a
lot of creativity, while
working closely with the
design team and
collaborating with the
client.
