• Joint Annual Health Sector Reviews are conducted in
line with the
o Health Policy 2007,
o Health Sector Strategic Plan III - (2009-2013)
o PHDP (MMAM) - 200-2017
o MKUKUTA,
o MDG’s and Vision 2025
• These reviews are conducted in collaboration with
Government, Development Partners, CSO’s and Private
Sector.

• Census
• Surveys
• HMIS
• Public Expenditure Review
• Demographic Surveillance System
• Poverty and Human Development Report
• Sentinel Panel of Districts (SPD)

5. Where are the gaps?
• Timely compilation of data from routine HMIS and
programs
• Limited capacity in data analysis and use at various
levels
• A few indicators require surveys
• Review some targets to reflect the current situation
• Long interval between national surveys
