 “Friday for Future” demonstrate the
need for a green transition with a
focus on mobility and production.
 This new economic system is also a
data driven system.
 To reduce power consumption,
heating and cooling energy available
data should be published and shared.
 Based on this shared data new digital
services can reduce CO2 emissions
significant.

 Active Citizenship can be improved due

- Information sharing on a citizen
platform
- Use the “once at only” principle

Stadt Monheim 4.0
 Monheim - a City near Cologne - was
aware of this issues and decided to start
a project with a focus on:
energy, mobility and digital citizen
services.
 Digital Enabler was selected to host the
project „MonLightGrid“. The objective is
to integrate several uses case for smart
lighting, smart metering on a
Smart City Platform
Key Objectives:
„To have a secure, scalable and
modular open data platform for citizen.

 To setup and maintain an own open source
platform requires skills or costs money.
 A security analysis for delivery item is
essential also end user usability is key.
 Especially for smaller cities and public
organization this could be a challenge.
 A low entry start point for smaller cities in
Germany could be appreciated.
During our projects we defined the
Digital Enabler Smart Box

The Digital Enabler Smart Box
Includes best practices for processes and
functionalities suitable for smaller cities and
municipalities in Germany.
 Project durations 4 months and 8 months ongoing
services
 Included a standard configuration, parametrization
and localization
 Covers one domain e.g. city administration, utility
 Up to three user groups and less than 50 User
 One standard IoT- Service with less then 10
devices
* Further functions like customization,
AR/VR or Portals/Apps are the next stage
of a project
