BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The project “PROTECTION OF VILLAGE ABADIES SHAHPUR
CHANJORA, FATEH GUJRAN AND SUKHO CHAK AGAINST THE EROSIVE
ACTION OF BEIN NULLAH IN DISTRICT NAROWAL (NDRMF)” is on-going in
Flood Bund Division Narowal. The work started on 21-05-2020 and since then
the two flood seasons i.e. 2020 and 2021 passed so far. During the execution
of the work at Fateh Pur village certain site conditions found changed due to
consecutive floods which warranted to be streamlined for successful completion
of the project.

PROPOSAL IN TECHNICAL SANCTIONED
Meandering action of Nullah has enhanced the erosion of the fertile lands in huge
quantum. During last few years the Nullah Bein’s is meandering apex has shifted
towards the village Fatehpur Gujran. The continuous erosion have now resulted in
alarming situation and created a risk to the survival of Village Fatehpur Gujran.
The project consisting of 2-No. cunnette and 1-No. Ganda Bund was framed in 2019.
Cunnette No.1 is proposed to divert the course of Hudla Nullah into Bein Nullah,
leading cut of 2200 ft. Cunnette No.2 is provided to shortening the loop of Bein
Nullah opposite village Fatehpur Gujran in length of 2900 ft. provided with Ganda
bund 2500’ long duly stone pitched in 500 ft. head portion.

REVISED PROPOSAL
The project was prepared during 2019 on then existing site conditions / course of Nullah
Bein and the suitable proposals were incorporated in the PC-I as well as T.S. During the
last 3-year floods, the meandering loop of Nullah has moved 1700 ft further downstream.
Accordingly, the revised location of both Cunnettes and Ganda bund needs to be re-
considered.
PROPOSAL NO.1
 Alignment of both cunnette is proposed to be relocated, as per existing regime
of Nullah Bein.
 The length of Cunnette 1 will be reduce to 1400 ft against 2900 ft and length of
Ganda Bund will be reduce to 1000 ft against 2500 ft and the length of cunnette 2
will remain unchanged. Stone pitching is proposed along complete length of
Ganda Bund, whereas 500 ft Stone pitching on u/s slope of Ganda bund in head
reach of Ganda bund is already approved in TS.
 Locations of Ganda bund with the length 1000 ft will be shifted 1700 ft D/s to the
original location at just U/s side of Fatehpur village.

PROPOSAL NO. 2
 Only Cunnette 2 (2900 ft) is proposed as per proposal 1,
relocated on existing regime of Nullah Bein i.e. chord of
presently developed meander.
 Re-location of Ganda Bund (aligned to village road) with
length of 1000 ft, complete length proposed to be protected
by providing stone pitching on U/s slope (1000 ft) as per
proposal 1, whereas 500 ft Stone pitching on u/s slope of
Ganda bund in head reach of Ganda bund is already approved
in TS.
 Locations of Ganda bund with the length 1000 ft will be
shifted 1700 ft D/s to the original location at just U/s side of
Fatehpur village.
