Museum in one anna (six paise).
X is now also called as Y. The name Y itself suggest a very
important event which took at this place.

Gowalia tank maidan or August kranti maidan where Gandhiji
issued Quit India Speech and gave the slogan "do or die".
X and some of her close associates began Y in the wake of Quit
India Movement. X’s associates included many leaders and people
who supplied equipments and provided technicians. Although Y
functioned only for three months, it greatly assisted the
movement by disseminating uncensored news and other
information banned by the British-controlled government of India.
It broadcasted recorded messages from Gandhi ji and other
prominent leaders across India and hence kept them in touch with
the public.
Reminiscing about those days, X described her involvement with Y
as her finest moment and also as her saddest moment, because an
Indian technician had betrayed them to the authorities. Id X and Y.

Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on 30
January 1948 in the compound of Birla House
(now Gandhi Smriti), a large mansion in
central New Delhi.
During his stint in Lahore jail in 1942 ,he was elected as the
mayor of Bombay. In 1928, he came up with the catchphrase
“Simon Go Back” in protest against the all-British Simon
Commission appointed by the imperial government to
recommend improvements to British governance in India.
He was released from prison in 1946 after being
imprisoned eight times during the freedom struggle and
went on to become an MLA in Independent India and
founder of the Congress Socialist Party. He is the man who
coined the iconic slogan 'Quit India’

 The X was established in 1922 as a unitary, teaching and
residential university by an Act of the then Central
Legislative Assembly of the British India.
 It was originally to be named Prince Charles University,
but after few discussions it was argued that if the
university fails, that would certainly antagonise the
Prince. The name was suggested by which it is known
today.
 Associated with purple colour its mascot is an elephant
and its logo says "Dedicated to truth".
