Started my career at SANBI in biodiversity data management. Also researched two drivers of change to biodiversity i.e. invasion biology and climate change. Currently, in the position of Deputy Director Biodiversity Informatics supporting Partnerships and Cooperation both nationally and at the Africa level with the intention that data mobilised meets a sustainable development agenda. Also managing the South African Node of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility which looks at making biodiversity data available via the internet, in support of science and policy implementation. Another key area is to grow Biodiversity Informatics as a field of science in the country.
