ipinairal ng ating pamahalaan tungkol sa
pagkasulong ng ating wika:

Nobyembre 1936 – Inaprobahan ng Kongreso
ang Batas Komonwelt Bilang 184 na lumikha ng
Surian ng Wikang Pambansa na naatasang
gumawa ng pag-aaral ng mga katutubong wika at
pumili ng isa na magiging batayan ng wikang
pambansa.

Disyembre 30, 1937 – sa
pamamagitan ng Kautusang
Tagapagpaganap Blg. 134 ng
Pangulong Quezon, ang wikang
pambansa ay ibabatay sa Tagalog.

Abril 1, 1940 – Ipinalabas ang Kautusang
Tagapagpaganap na nagtadhana ng
paglilimbag ng isang balarila at isang
diksyunaryo sa Wikang Pambansa. Ipinahayag
pa ring ituturo ang wikang pambansa sa mga
paaralan sa buong Pilipinas na nagsimula
noong Hunyo 19, 1940.

Marso 26, 1954 – Nagpalabas ng isang
Kautusan ang Pangulong Ramon Magsaysay sa
taunang pagdiriwang ng Linggo ng Wikang
Pambansa mula Marso 29 – Abril 4. Subalit ang
petsa ng pagdiriwang ay inilipat sa Agosto 13-14
tuwing taon.

Hunyo 26, 1954 – Pinatibay ng
Batas Komonwelt Blg. 570 na
nagtadhana na simula Hunyo 4,
1946 ang Wikang pambansa ay isa
sa mga opisyal na wika ng bansa.

Agosto 12, 1959 – tinawag na Pilipino
ang Wikang Pambansa ng lagdaan ni
Kalihim Jose Romero ng Kagawaran ng
Edukasyon ang Kautusang Blg. 7. Ayon
sa Kautusang ito, kailangan at tutukuyin
ang Pambansang Wika ay Pilipino ang
gagamitin.

Oktobre 24, 1967 – nilagdaan ni
Pangulong Marcos ang isang Kautusang
nagtatadhana na ang lahat ng mga gusali
at mga tanggapan ng pamahalaan ay
pangalanan sa Pilipino.

Marso 1968 – Ipinalabas ni Kalihim
Tagapagpaganap Rafael Salas ang isang
Kautusan na ang lahat ng pamuhatan ng
lihim ng mga kagawaran, tanggapan at
mga sangay nito ay maisulat sa Pilipino.

Agosto 7, 1973 – Nilikha ng Pambansang
Lupon ng Edukasyon ang resolusyong
nagsasaad na gagamiting midyum ng pagtuturo
mula sa antas ng elementarya hanggang
tersyaryasa lahat ng paaralang pambayan o
pribado pasisimula sa taong panunuran 1974-
75.
