Writing a learning objective and using flashcards
Objective: The students will be able to write at least two of their life experiences
by using flashcards and verbs in simple past.
First Activity: I will put ten flashcards on the blackboard representing ten verbs in
simple past, and then I will be sure that students know what verb the flash cards
represent, once I have done that the students have to choose from a bunch of
cards the simple present of the verb and the simple past that they believe is the
correct. The purpose of this is to gradually introduce the past simple of the
flashcards.
Last Activity: I will divide the classroom into teams of four or three students, and
then I will give to each time two flashcards. Once they can recognize the simple
past of the verbs I will ask them two write two sentences for each member of the
team. The sentence have be in past and they have to use the verb that the
flashcard represent and also the sentence have to talk about one of their life
experiences, like for example if they have the verb won they have to write a
sentence that talks about one of their achievement or something that they have
won. So they will be able to talk about their life experiences. Once they finish their
sentences they have to share them with the entire classroom.
