This course is for people who want to learn
more about the fascinating world of branding
and typography and learn about best practices
of using type in various areas of design; for
those who want to meet in person legendary
creative directors, who are responsible for great
masterpieces. This programme will help you
become better at what you do and find new ways
to develop your career.
Programme includes lectures, workshops, visits
to exhibitions, self-study work and professional
discussions. You will also have various unique
opportunities to get a behind the scenes look at
the most influential agencies in London.

examples of British typography and branding
and how can we use them?
All of these questions and many others will be
answered during our programme.

Every day you will discover typography and branding
through different lenses:
Every Day consists of:
Boosting breakfast
During the boosting break-
fasts you will interact with
other participants, share
your ideas, experiences
and expectation for the
day and meet local pro-
fessionals to get to know
more about the backstage
of the creative industry.
Morning session
It is the first session of the
day, it will take the form
of a lecture or a hands-on
workshop.
Practical exercise
A short task to follow up
the morning session and
make everyone unlock
their brain’s full potential
Afternoon session
The second session of the
day, where you will have a
chance to visit another top
London agency and listen
to their team revealing se-
crets they use in everyday
work.
Debrief and the city
Discuss the content of
the day with other partic-
ipants to better organize
it in your mind. It will take
place straight after the
afternoon session in loca-
tions that we can then visit
as cultural and social ac-
tivities such as museums,
galleries, event spaces or
bars.
Educational programme lasts 5 days, Monday to Friday.
Saturday, Sunday – free time, with an optional cultural programme.

Cultural

The walks cover sights of interest to the typographic
historian as well as examples of beautiful letters found
on the streets of the City of London which range from
Roman inscriptions through to contemporary marks
left by both the expert and amateur lettering artists.

Typography and Branding Week in London

  • 2. What is it? When: 27 June–3 July 2016 What: A week in London consisting of lectures, workshops and visits to companies who specialise in typography. For who: – graphic, digital, packaging designers – art and creative directors – branding and typography specialists – MA students and graduates of design programmes – everyone who is passionate about british design and typography Price: £1,995 – with accommodation £1,625 – without accommodation This course is for people who want to learn more about the fascinating world of branding and typography and learn about best practices of using type in various areas of design; for those who want to meet in person legendary creative directors, who are responsible for great masterpieces. This programme will help you become better at what you do and find new ways to develop your career. Programme includes lectures, workshops, visits to exhibitions, self-study work and professional discussions. You will also have various unique opportunities to get a behind the scenes look at the most influential agencies in London.
  • 3. What is British Typography and Branding Why is branding UK’s number one export? What makes agencies in London so successful globally? Can a non-british designer become a british typographer? Where can we find examples of British typography and branding and how can we use them? All of these questions and many others will be answered during our programme.
  • 4. 5reasons to join the programme 1. You will GAIN contacts of the most influential people in the industry. People you will meet during the week are the creative world’s legends who you won’t be able to meet in any other circumstances. These contacts will be useful for those who are thinking about working in London and for those who would like to create partnership projects with international agencies. 2. portfolio and projects review. If you are working on a new project at the moment, you will be able to get ideas on how to improve it as well as discuss its various aspects with world class experts. 3. Finding the best way to work. During the week you will have an opportunity to see how the biggest agencies organise their working process and space as well as how they build teams and man- age projects. 4. New ideas and insightS. The wisdom and inspiration nour- ished from the week is a great natural source of inventions, insights and solutions for any project. 5. Valuable knowledge given directly from London’s industry experts. Knowledge gained during the courses will give participants a massive boost for their personal and professional growth.

Every Day consists of: Boosting breakfast During the boosting break- fasts you will interact with other participants, share your ideas, experiences and expectation for the day and meet local pro- fessionals to get to know more about the backstage of the creative industry. Morning session It is the first session of the day, it will take the form of a lecture or a hands-on workshop. Practical exercise A short task to follow up the morning session and make everyone unlock their brain’s full potential Afternoon session The second session of the day, where you will have a chance to visit another top London agency and listen to their team revealing se- crets they use in everyday work. Debrief and the city Discuss the content of the day with other partic- ipants to better organize it in your mind. It will take place straight after the afternoon session in loca- tions that we can then visit as cultural and social ac- tivities such as museums, galleries, event spaces or bars. Educational programme lasts 5 days, Monday to Friday. Saturday, Sunday – free time, with an optional cultural programme. 1 2 3 4 5
  • 11. Cultural programme The walks cover sights of interest to the typographic historian as well as examples of beautiful letters found on the streets of the City of London which range from Roman inscriptions through to contemporary marks left by both the expert and amateur lettering artists.
