1. What have you leant about technologies
from the process of constructing this
product?
To produce our film, we filmed all of ours scenes on a professional camera
along with a tripod to still the image when in mid filming process. We all
took turns equally to have a go on the camera, to have a feel of the role of
cameraman and to see who had
the best cameraman skills. The
camera produced good quality
filming picture and captured
sound well. We all had a basic
knowledge of how the camera
worked due to high modernised
technology that is around today
and available to us teenagers in
school.
The film was recorded onto a tape and then wired up to our MAC
computers and then edited on ‘Final Cut Pro’ software, which is used
specifically for editing short films.

2. We also all had a go at Final Cut Pro and tested our skills on the software to
also see who had the best knowledge of it. To which then we gave out
different roles where some members of the group focused on editing and
the others did research for better understanding of thriller film
conventions. Final Cut Pro gave our film good finishing effects, and allowed
us to do most of the aspects we wanted to add into our film, such as
gunshot effects and adding in background music and slide transitions.
We also used other websites online, to find other special effects and noise
effects to make our film even better, such as heavy breathing and a heart
beat domineering sound. Using this software was yet also confusing and
hard to use for us first timers, luckily we found some online tutorials to help
us out with creating special effects, as well as having trusty help from a IT
teacher who had great knowledge of using this program. Overall using final
cut pro was a great success and we will be using it in the future also for
creating other films.
