Its an approach in teaching
beginning reading in English and
Filipino. It starts with teaching of
the sound, followed by sound
blending and meaning of words
written.
The three stages are:
1. Hear, See, Say Stage
 Production of sound by the
teacher while the learners
are listening
Presentation of letter names
representing the sound
produced by the teacher
Production of sound by the
learners
2. Blending Stage
Blending the sounds
(Vowels and consonants)
learned by the learners
CVC, CCV, VVC, CCVC and
ect.
Bl, cl, gl, gr, br, -ut, -ect, -

3. Meaning Stage
 Teacher presents pictures or real objects or
actions that wil give meaning to words blended
and written
ex. m – at - mat (picture)
c – at - cat (picture)
Learners read the words, read in phrases or
simple short sentences.

 Formative test (example)
Encircle the word that tells about the picture.

• pagpapakita nga hugis ng tunog

Sa FullerTechnique,kailangan muna
ng batang matutuhan ang tunog ng
lahat na katinig (consonants) bago
mag-umpisang magbasa ng Maikling
salita.
Sa Marungko Approach, maaari na
ang batang magbasa ng maikling
salita sa ikatlong leksyon. Ang mga
salita ay bu=inubuo ng mga titik na
napag-aralan na.

Ang Sunod-sunod na mga Pagsasanay sa Pagturo ng
Panimulang Pagbasa:
• Pagbasa ng kuwento o tula na maaaring
basehan ng leksyon sa pagbasa(optional)
• Paglinang ng talasalitaan
• Pagtunog ng titik
• Pagsulat ng titik
• Mga Pagsasanay
• Nasa mesa ang mga handa sa kaarawan ni Beth.
• Anu-ano ang nasa mesa? Sasabihin natin ang mga
pangalan.
“May piniritong manok, hiniwang melon, nilagang mani
at inihaw na mais.”
• SasabIhin ng guro: “Ituro ang larawanng hiniwang
melon. . .”
“Pakinggan natin ang tunog ng M. Ito ay
tunog na sinasabi natin kapag may naamoy
tayong masarap sa mesa.”
“Tunugin natin ang M.”
Papakinggan ng guro ang bawat
pangkat/hanay/bata sa pagtunog ng M.

beginning reading. This was
designed to help the reading
teachers and school heads
gain technical know-how of
what to teach and how to
teach beginning reading.
TheThree Stages:
1.First Stage
Teaching the learners, the name and form
of all letters of the alphabet associating
them with familiar object
Ex. B – for real banana
Y – for yellow ripe banana
G – for green unripe banana
M – for the object mango, medal, map
M – for a picture of mother, moon,
monkey
2.Second Stage
Teaching consonant sounds one at a
time with the suggestions below
following the rules in step 1
The suggested sequence in teaching the
consonant sounds:

3. Third Stage
Forming words in columns using a vowel in each
lesson following the sequence below. Say the
words in each columns moving downward letting
leaners read in.
