Concor Opencast Mining is a world class implementer of mining projects. Based on a philosophy of ensuring
long term relationships with its clients and a commitment to consistent performance, the company has
undertaken many successful projects involving major mining houses.
Concor Opencast Mining specialises in opencast mining of steeply dipping ore bodies, removal of
overburden, surface blasting design and execution, rehabilitation and developing box cuts, with particular
experience in narrow ore bodies. The company has the capacity to undertake projects and those which
involve moving in excess of a million cubic metres per month — and everything in between.
The company is renowned for excellence, quality and reliability, offering best practice and innovative
solutions to the mining industry, drawn from hard-won specialist knowledge.
Concor Opencast Mining operates a large fleet of machinery. When required, it is able to complement its
existing fleet to meet the specific requirements of any project.
The company has a reputation of delivering projects on time, within budget and with an excellent safety
record, underpinned by a commitment by the leadership and Concor Opencast Mining teams to service
excellence.
Concor Opencast Mining’s integrated management system is in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS
18001. The company is accredited with MQA and Certified with the SABS
The company’s commitment to occupational health and safety is demonstrated by its Zero Harm philosophy
and has successfully implemented and sustained such initiatives. These are underpinned by ever downward
trending performance indicators, such as Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR), Total Incident Frequency
Rate (TIFR) and Total Recordable Case Rate (TRCR). For these efforts the company received the Murray &
Roberts Chief Executives Award and Platinum Members - Safety Award in 2012 and 2013.
