7. MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS
A municipal corporation is the legal term for a local governing body,
including (but not necessarily limited to) cities, counties, towns, townships, charter
townships, villages, and boroughs.
8. Municipal corporations are established in big cities.
The Councilors are elected for Five Years.
From the councilors, the Mayor is elected.
1/3rd seats are reserved for women.
Seats are also reserved for SC and ST.
The municipal commissioner is the Chief Executive
Officer(CEO)

recognizable routes without any formal construction or maintenance.

18. Cantonment Board is one of civic administration body in India under
control of Ministry of Defence. The Board comprise elected members
besides ex-officio and nominated members as per the Cantonments Act,
2006. The term of office of a member of a Board shall be five years. The
Cantonment Board consists of eight elected Members, three nominated
Military Members, three Ex-officio Members (Station Commander, Garrison
Engineer and senior executive Medical Officer), one representative of the
District Magistrate. Cantonments is divided into four categories, namely,
Category I - population exceeds fifty thousand
Category II - population exceeds ten thousand, but does not exceed fifty
thousand
Category III - population exceeds two thousand five hundred, but does not
exceed ten thousand
Category IV - population does not exceed two thousand five hundred.
