What is Round Table India?
• Round Table India is an association of non-political and non-
sectarian young men - most of whom are in the age group of 25
to 40. Its aim is to promote service, fellowship and goodwill in
National and International affairs.

• The basic unit of Round Table India is the “Table”. In RTI, most
Tables have an active membership of between 15 to 20 members
each.

• We are present in over 75 cities across India and there are over
175 active Round Tables in India.

• Round Table India is a part of Round Table International - a
group of Round Table Associations from over 65 countries with a world-
wide membership of over 33,000 members sharing a common belief in
Service Through Fellowship.

Who are Round Tablers?
• Round Table looks for dynamic & successful individuals from
different professional backgrounds and occupations including:
o Businessmen
o Managers in the Corporate Sector
o Professionals (Doctors, Lawyers, C.A.s, etc.)
o Entrepreneurs
• RTI has over 2,500 active Members (referred to as Tablers)
• Round Table India has an estimated 5,000 + alumni (Retired
Tablers), most of who are well-established professionally and
many of who maintain strong links with RTI though 41r Clubs
and other activities.
• Round Table India believes in Community Service through the
Fellowship of its members.

Past Fundraising Accomplishments of
HDRT 189 in support of FTE
• HDRT 189 has been involved in Fundraising right from the
very beginning of our Table – in fact we raised funds even
while still in the process of forming the Table (in 2005-06).

• We have raised Funds in every year of our existence

• We have conducted numerous Movie Premieres as
Fundraisers – including Dhoom 2 & Krrish

• In 2008, we held a Major Fundraising Event – a Paresh
Rawal Play ( Shaadi@Barbaadi.com ) and we were able to
raise over 10 lakhs in income to use towards the school we
are building in Begumpet


HDRT 189 has almost finished building a
school in Rasoolpura at a cost of ≈ 1 Crore


Where will the income from this Golf
Fundraiser go?
• Some of the income raised from this Golf Tournament will go
towards the completion of our current (1st ) School Project in
Rasoolpura (a slum area in Begumpet)
o In the 1st phase of construction, 10 rooms were completed and handed over to the
Government on Aug. 15th, 2009.
o In the 2nd phase of construction, a 20 toilet-block(10 toilets each for girls and boys)
as well as another 10 rooms will be completed / handed over by January 26 th, 2010

• The majority of the income raised from the Round Table Open
golf fundraiser will go towards our next School Project.
• The school projects are determined in consultation with the
Govt. Of India’s SSA (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) programme .
• The location of our 2nd School Project has been tentatively
identified as Pattigadda in Begumpet and we anticipate
starting construction of the new school on Feb 1st, 2010.

Why has Round Table India focused on the
social cause of Education?
• Today, over 34% of India’s adult population is illiterate

• Literacy rates in India in 2009 (for age of 15 +) are 76.9% for
men and 54.5% for women

• Over 50 million Indian children ages between the ages of 6 to
14 are out of school.

• Over 68% of all boys and 73% of all girls drop out of school
before class 10

• Literacy rates can be improved by focusing on creating school
infrastructure, and by ensuring that more children stay in
school… and this can uplift the children out of poverty.
