WORK HISTORY:
2015 – 2017
Summerset Mountain View Retirement Village
New Plymouth
I have spent the last 18 months directing the new construction of 41 two and three bedroom Villas
for Summerset Mountain View Retirement Village in New Plymouth. This project is valued at in
excess of a one hundred million dollars new construction, purpose built retirement village. My
work equated to 38% of the total Project value of the Villas.
Responsibilities included:
• Building relationships with contractors
• Planning and programming
• Dealings with Suppliers and Project Scheduling
• Weekly Contractor leads meeting and Performance Tracking of Sub Contractors
• All Health and safety requirement surrounding the Villa Construction
• Quality control processes and ensurance of top-end delivery of Villas
• Meeting expectations targets and deadlines throughout the project
Overall tasks
• Programming modules of blocks of eight two and three bedroom units
• Prestart engagement with Suppliers and Sub-contractors
• Documenting, reviewing and ensuring Health and Safety requirements on site
• Contractors Site Specific Safety Plans and monitoring charts
• Support documentation for site audits
• Delivering quality units for Summerset Sales Team
• Purchasing orders, Site Instructions
• Obtaining quotes and checking rates for approval
Weekly tasks
• Ordering, tracking and monitoring builds
• Site inspections, contractors T/A’s, labour where required timesheets, daily
contractor meetings, health and safety monitoring, invoices checks and balances
• All dealings, planning and implementing program with sub-contractors
• Site preparation, putting in place temporary services
• Ordering, Confirming and scheduling deliveries including : Kitchens, sectional
doors, hardware, rails, trusses, frames, bricks, exterior/interior joinery, roof, fascia,
showers, shelving, wardrobes,
• Organising plant and equipment
• Scaffolding, Fall protection, Hireage of equipment
• All dealings with District Council Building Inspector

• Defects corrected prior to handover of Villa Blocks to Sales team
• Exterior/interior checks for Code of Compliance purposes

I was employed in Wellington in 2012 for the rebuild of the iconic Backbencher Gastropub working
closely with Alistair Boyce the pub owner. My role included :
• Rebuild of Backbencher Pub, Wellington after two extensive fires including:
• Scheduling, Gantts
• Codes of Compliance
• Inspections/Engineers & Council
• Certificate of Public Use
• Structural Steel
• Quantity Control
• Earthquake Strengthening
• Grease trap
• Installation of Commercial Kitchen
• Site meetings including Site Safety & Toolbox
• Installation of bars and associated services
• New Joinery
• Waterproofing
• Client liaison
• Fire rating walls & joinery
• Ordering materials
• Staff development/training
Prior to 2012 I worked for Tom Conor Construction as Site Manager building a new Water
Reservoir at Patea, Taranaki. This entailed using tilt slab construction for the Reservoir and the
simultaneous construction of a Water Treatment Plant.
Some of the work I have undertaken in Wanganui includes work in the role of Carpenter/Foreman
and Project Manager for the following commercial sites (note several of these jobs were run
concurrently)
