To gain new information:-
Whenever you listen to learn something, you
are engaged in informational listening.
There are many examples of informational
listening.
such as..
when you listen to the news, watch a
documentary, in work meetings , when a
friend tells you a recipe or when you are
talked-through a technical problem with a
LOGOLOGO
Purposes Of Listening
• To quest and test evidence
and assumptions
• When a speaker presents a
message,much of what is said
consists of facts(verifiable
data) or opinions(inferences).
Good listeners test those facts
and opinions against
LOGOLOGO
Purposes Of Listening
• To be inspired
• Listening to someone in any form like
speech, music or any form can be
really inspiring through which some
people learn or some people get
motivate.
• Someone get touched in different
ways by listening something inspiring,
“touched” means it bring in feeling of
like honored, flattered, crazy or many

• Some people can move on from
something they are stuck by listening
to inspirational speech/music.

• Be a Good Listener
• Listen for the other person's
talents and interests
• Never talk over people

respect

• Listen actively.
Focus on active listening instead of passive
listening
• Maintain eye contact.
By looking the other person in the eye, you are
proving that you're interested in what they're
saying
• Don't finish other people's
sentences
Research has shown by doing this you are dis-
empowering the other person because you are
taking control of the conversation
