  3. 3. • It is a social network that allows users to visually share and discover new interests by posting, also known as ‘pinning,’ images or videos to their own or others’ pinboards (i.e. a collection of ‘pins,’ usually with a common theme). . WHAT IS PINTEREST
  4. 4. THINGS CAN BE DONE IN PINTEREST • Pin: An image posted to Pinterest • Pinning: The act of visually sharing content • Pin Board: A set of theme-based pins. • Repin: Reposting somebody else’s pin • Pin It Button: Button that can be place on websites • Pinner: The person who does the sharing
  5. 5. BOARD Save Pins to boards to easily organize your ideas. The Pins you save live in the boards you create. Name your boards whatever you want and arrange them in any order you like. Oh! Did we mention that you can add other people to your boards? Friends who save Pins together, stay together! Board Sections Sections are boards within boards and they make your ideas even easier to find and organize. If you have a furniture board imagine creating sections that organize your ideas to different color, size, or occasion— there are no rules, so get inspired to create!
  6. 6. PIN • Pins are ideas people find and save from around the web. Each Pin links back to the website it was saved from. If you click through the Pin you can learn more about it— like how to make it or where to buy it. • The Save button • The Save button does exactly that—it saves your ideas and Pins! As you discover Pins you’re interested in, save them to your boards by clicking on the red Save button.

PINTEREST USAGE • Pinterest is 5th most popular social network in India. • Pinterest has 80% female users and 20% male users in india. • The site generates more than 400% revenue per click as Twitter and 20% more than Facebook. • The most browsed categories on Pinterest include- Fitness, Personal Care , Home Décor, Food & Drink • 92% of overall Pinterest posts are photos
  9. 9. HOW TO SKYROCKET YOUR TRAFFIC FROM PINTEREST • Optimize Your Profile • Always create vertical pins. Pinterest prefers pins to be longer than they are wide (a 2:3 aspect ratio). • Use a mix of images and graphic elements. • Use attractive (not distracting) colors & fonts. • Engage with Whats popolur • Post Fresh & Orginal Content • Beautiful Visuals • Description • Keywords

HOW UNIQUE IS PINTEREST COMPARED TO OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS • People spend time to search (For ideas ) & looking at things • Most user don’t use pinterest as communciation tool • Order to get good results you must know how to optimize your profile,Boards & Pins - Example Just like in google Search - Your blog post to show up you must optimize

BEST TIME TO PIN • The best time to post is between 8 and 11 P.M. • Especially on Saturdays and Sundays • Activity peaks at 9 P.M. • During work hours, the best time to post is between 2 and 4 P.M. Times can vary for different categories so it important to do your research • For example, for Personal care the peak time to post is on a Saturday & Sunday

HOW TO OPTIMIZE YOUR PIN & ANALYTICS • Pin your own images to create brand awareness • Use popular key words to reach a wider audience • Make sure pins are of a high quality • It is recommended that images have a maximum width of 600px and a thumbnail width of 190px • Pinterest provides an analytics service where you can see • Pins people like • Impressions you are making • Your progress towards targets • How many saves you have • Businesses should make the most of this useful feature
  13. 13. CHECKING YOUR INSIGHTS • *Analytics data of your pinterest profile • *Analytics data of your website • Insights - how your website's content is performing. To gain access to your Pinterest account's analytics, verify your website and then from the Settings drop-down menu at the top right-hand corner, you'll be able to check your stats by clicking Analytics.

TIPS • For Pin descriptions, always share the most important and relevant information first • Be sure to include important keywords and brand names in this field if it makes sense for your Pin. • You can choose to promote your best-performing pin that already exists, a new image or video to campaign as an ad, or even Pin and promote imagery from your website • You can also use keywords in the description of your boards and in your Pinterest bio.

Pins can also link back to websites, which is why Pinterest is great for driving traffic and sales. And most importantly for businesses, Pins help people find more information on products they're looking to buy
