  2. 2. Camera Obscures The device consist of a box with a hole in the side. Light goes through the hole and hits a surface where a colour picture is produced but upside down. The picture can be projected onto paper and then is traced for a more accurate picutre.
  3. 3. First Photograph Ever Taken The first ever photo taken was took by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in 1826. He took the photo with a camera obscure and the picture is of the view from outside of his upstairs window. He called this type of photography ‘Heliography’. In 1829 Joseph produced little more work and died.
  4. 4. John Herschel John Herschel was an English mathematician, astronomer, chemist and made many contributions to the world of photography. He created the first blueprint process so he could copy his astronomy notes.
  5. 5. Henry Fox Talbot William Henry Fox Talbot was a British inventor and photographer. He started out making silhouettes of leaves and plants but then he discovered that there was an image after a short exposure. Although you could not see it very clearly, he then chemically develop it into a photo nega.tive
  6. 6. First Kodak In 1888, George Eastman invented dry, transparent, and flexible, photographic film (or rolled photography film) and the Kodak cameras that could use the new film. George Eastman was an avid photographer and became the founder of the Eastman Kodak company.
  7. 7. First 35mm Camera Oskar Barnack created the first 35mm camera in 1913. He created the camera so you could take high quality pictures in a compact camera.
