In the event of a cancellation of a training course by The Training
Network, all fees will be returned, or transferred with your agreement
to a later event.
We fully recognise that difficulties do arise from time to time
over attendance at a training event. Although we will endeavour to
re-book places that are cancelled this cannot be guaranteed the
following conditions will therefore apply to all confirmed bookings:
1. Substitutes are acceptable up to the commencement of training.
2. Fee will be reimbursed for cancellations before the closing date of
that course, i.e. 14 days before the course start date.
3. Full fee will be non-refundable for cancellations after closing date.
4. The Training Network reserves the right to cancel the course, to
change the venue and/or the course facilitators.
3. Introduction to Debt (half day)
This course focuses on the causes and perceptions of debt and the overall
process of advising someone with debt problems. At the end of this training
unit you should be able to:
· Deal with your clients debts by using the debt advice process, and
be able to access relevant information using suggested resource
materials
· Get the full picture of the circumstances i.e the whole situation
· Identify emergency situations
· Sort the debts into priorities and non priorities
· Look to see if they are liable for the debt and refer cases where this
may be in doubt
· Help to maximise their income
· Discuss essential expenditure to look for ways of making savings
· Use the Common Financial Statement Budget/Form and begin to
prepare a financial statement
Financial Capability Overview (half day)
By the end of the session learners should be able to:
· Describe some of the sorts financial capability activities that are
used in financial capability sessions and which they can use with
their clients.
· Describe some of the issues that their clients face when managing
their money
· Describe some of the benefits for their clients of improved financial
capability
· Identify areas for future planning
Welfare Benefits Overview (half day)
This is a course for those people who require an introduction to (or a
reminder of) the Welfare Benefits system. It covers a brief insight into the
main benefits and is intended to help people to:
· Understand which of the most common benefits are means tested,
contributions based and non means tested
· Understand who administers which benefit
· Understand who the most common benefits are for
· Identify ‘passporting’ benefits
· Understand the basic principles of Universal Credit, and which
‘legacy’ benefits they will replace
