The document describes revisions made to a magazine contents page design. The designer used a masthead for continuity and article headings typical of pop music magazines. Feedback indicated the initial design was crowded, so columns were added to split articles. Additional tweaks like a subheading beneath an image improved the final design alignment with researched pop music magazine conventions.
2. I used my masthead to show
continuity throughout my
magazine. I also used article
headings which I found were
typical in pop music
magazines. I referred back
to my research and planning
to ensure my contents page
was ideal for my target
audience and also so that it
did actually look like a pop
music magazine.
3. The reason I used headings
for example celebs is because
its easy to read and makes it
easy for the reader to find
what they are looking for.
Having images down the side
of the contents page is typical
in pop music magazines so I
decided to do the same. I used
the masthead to create a
continuity throughout my
magazine
4. I used my research
and planning to help
with the layout of my
contents page. I
found that this
contents page was
quite crowded and
that it needed
changing slightly like
putting the articles in
columns.
5. After getting feedback I
changed the layout of my
contents page by moving
things around and splitting
the articles into two columns.
I also added ‘Celeb Crush of
The Month’ under the image
of Josh Cuthbert as I thought
it didn’t look right with the
image on its own.
6. FINAL DESIGN
From looking back at my
research and planning I
changed a few things to
make it look more like a
typical pop music
magazine. I ensured I
could fit all my content on
to the contents page but I
wanted it to look quite
neat so I did 2 columns
instead of 3 of articles.
