Location Centrally located moments from the Champs-Elysées in Rue Balzac, in Paris’ 8th
arrondissement. The hotel is near the Arc de Triomphe, Faubourg Saint-Honoré and
the Avenue Montaigne.
Access A 40 minute drive from Roissy Charles de Gaulle International Airport, a two minute walk
from either George V or Charles de Gaulles Etoile (Arc de Triomphe) Metro stations...
and just three stops on the RER from Gare du Nord and the Eurostar trains to London.
History In 1850 the street was named rue Balzac after the famous romantic novelist Honoré de
Balzac. A short time later, the architect Paul Déchard built a private townhouse for the
director of the Paris Opera, Mr. Rit, and this private residence is now Hotel Balzac.
Following an extensive refurbishment Hotel Balzac re-opened on 18 July 2007 – the
project involved an overall investment of over 11 million euro’s and took two years
to complete.

3. Interiors The interior design is by Anne-Marie Sabatier who formerly worked with Pierre-Yves
Rochon. For Hotel Balzac, Sabatier’s approach has been to mix a neo-classical style with
rich colours, fabrics and contemporary furnishings to create a truly Parisian style.
Accommodation 57 luxury guestrooms, 13 generous suites and two expansive penthouse suites.
The grandest suite – The Royal Suite – features a private roof terrace with stunning views
over Paris’ rooftops and looks directly onto the Eiffel Tower.
