  7. 7. Tet, also known as the Lunar New Year holiday, is one of the most important festivals in Vietnam. Tet usually takes place in late January or early February. Tet holiday usually lasts from 7 to 9 days. Before Tet, every member of the family cleans the house, fields and gardens. They also decorate the house with couplets and peach or apricot flowers. During Tet, some families enjoy this festival by preparing traditional dishes such as banh chung, dried fruit jam, braised meat and eggs, etc. way to give them wishes for the new year. For Vietnamese people, Tet is an occasion for them to reunite after 12 months of hard work outside. It is a time for family gathering and welcoming a new year with many blessings.
