BODACIOUS BASKETS - Estevan Comprehensive School 2013/14 – gift baskets for every occasion, including Easter, Professional Admin Assistants’ Day, Father’s Day, and Grad! They set up in the local shopping mall for Easter and offered photos with the Easter bunny free of charge with a gift basket purchase.
Esterhazy High School 2013/14 - Students were already skilled in using the computer program to design the signs and had access to a plasma cutter in their school’s shop. CUSTOM SIGN-IT was born out of their unique set of talents and resources….these students leveraged their abilities to create a successful business that sold custom signs to local businesses for literally hundreds of dollars!
ELEGANT SWEETS – O’Neill High School 2013-14 – plastic wine glasses filled with candies that could be customized by color. Note the lemon or orange candy slice on the glass edge!!!!
HOMESTYLE HOCKEY – Yorkton Regional High School, the 2014 Company of the Year for Southern Saskatchewan – Most of the students who formed this company are hockey players themselves. They know that when a wooden stick is broken, it has not use EXCEPT to be recycled into beautiful pieces of furniture and décor as this group built. They offered end tables, coat racks, photo frames/cork boards and chairs. How unique!
LE CASE – Melville Comprehensive School 2013/14 – French Immersion group of students; hence, the ‘French’ company name! - customizable phone cases for iphones and (I believe) Samsung Galaxy phones. This group had to deal with copyright issues over the comic designs AND the Melville Millionaires logo.
RED LILY NATURALS - Regina Huda School 2013/14 – beauty products (lip balm, hand sanitizer and lotion) elegantly packaged and displayed
STRONG THEORY – Yorkton Regional High School 2013/14 – orbs made from string (glued to balloons) and used in lamps and for home décor.
SWEET TEMPTATIONS – Greenall High School 2013/14 – cupcakes says it all!!!! They offered special cupcakes for Easter and marketed specifically for special events like Professional Admin Assistants Day in April. Offerings included cookies ‘n’ cream, cinnamon roll, s’mores, and red velvet.
SWEET OASIS – Regina Huda School 2013/14 – candy/snack offerings of Magic Stix (candy/chocolate-covered pretzels), Sweet Explosions (popcorn drizzled in chocolate) and Cinnamonds (almonds roasted in a cinnamon and sugar mixture). Production took place off-site, in a food-safe kitchen at a neighboring school.
STRESS-LESS TRADE SHOW – Riffell High School 2013/14 – a trade show for all things healthy!
SUDBUSTERS – Riffell High School 2013/14 - car was that operated mostly on weekends in the school parking lot
Xmas Xpress – O’Neill High School 2013/14 – a custom printing company that sold customized items like greeting cards and calendars; they produced the shipping labels and got them to their destinations!
Twists & Turns – Cornerstone Christian School 2013/14 – healthy and nutritious trail mixes
TWO Delicious ~ Peacock Collegiate 2009/10 ~ They produced themed gifts ‘for two.’ This was their Movie Night Munchies for Two which included microwave popcorn, two hot chocolate mixes, two chocolate-dipped spoons, chocolates, Mike and Ikes, licorice, etc. HOT seller at $10 each or 3 for $25.
PEAC-TREATS – Peacock Collegiate 2010/11 – CANADIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE COMPANY OF THE YEAR – themed cupcake kits. Shown here is the Rider themed box which contains all the supplies to make a ‘Rider dozen’ (13) cupcakes. Kit includes: Dr. Oetker cake and icing mix (underneath); cupcake liners, picks and sprinkles.

EDIBLE ELEGANCE – Estevan Comprehensive School 2010/11 - Gifts in a jar….cappuccino mix, brownies, peppermint hot chocolate mix, and a cookie mix.
JARFULS – Peacock Collegiate 2008/09….a company that produced gifts in a jar, including soup mix, cappuccino mix and chocolate chip cookies….all at $10 each or 3 for $25.
TEATOPIA – Campbell Collegiate 2011/12….tea gift sets. Sets were customized with red, blue or green teapots and corresponding tea bags.
From the 2010 Canadian Chamber of Commerce Company of the Year out of Alberta…..hand sanitizer with NO alcohol content….all natural products. Students acquired or developed the recipe somehow to produce this at a low cost. Students partnered with hotel chains to supply and were hugely successful. The bottle is about 8-10 cm tall. This team went on to win the North American Company of the Year award as well.
INTELLIGENT PLANTERS – Aden Bowman Collegiate 2011/12 - Old books (destined for recycling or the landfill) were repurposed as planters. The company resorted to using artificial plants (Christmas themed) as opposed to live plants.
HOME-GROWN T’S…..A group of Regina students started tie-dying t-shirts which then led to baby onesies, sweatshirts and sweaters. At the end of the company run, three students asked if they could carry on with the concept and were given permission to do so. This company still exists today and they have perfected the art of tie-dying. They have added other products to their line, including bedsheets and pillowcases. Fun stuff!

CHUG-A-LUG-A-MUG – Peacock Collegiate 2007/08 – their promo photo….staged beautifully with a white winter coat as the backdrop! Chug-a-lug-a-Mug offered gift mugs filled with goodies, and a hot drink (coffee, tea, apple cider or hot chocolate) was included!
CLASSY CONCOCTIONS – Central Butte School 2011/12 – Beef jerky produced in their food-safe home economics lab was their staple offering. The local hockey rink and hotels in Central Butte and neighboring communities sold it on their behalf. The company also offered popcorn balls at Halloween and baking platters at Christmas.
