01.08.12 “ Amos means burden bearer.” “ When God sends a messenger to you or a message to you, the messengers name ought to mean something. This is what God is trying to communicate to you. So if He sends "Amos" what He is saying is burden bearer.” If Amos has a meaning, then other messengers should also have one as well. Yolanda means violet flower, a royalty, a birth that stems from truth which is the beginning part of the royal family of God. She has to be born again...just because she has the name doesn’t mean she has the entitlement of what she is entitled to. She had to become born again. Glen means a valley, one that is long and deep, a deep valley in highlands that is a narrow river that means clean and purity but profoundly it refers to "Narrow River". He is the straight and narrow. “ Amos exemplifies God’s commitment to forewarn His people of upcoming judgment to give hem an opportunity to repent. Are they going to allow God to bear their burden or become their own burden bearers?” “ Amos shows up with an opportunity to repent.” “ The best opportunity that you can have in life is an opportunity to repent. When you no longer have an opportunity to repent that means you are asleep and standing in front of the Father with no more time.” 1 Corinthians 14:26

Verse 29 – “refers to a prophetic utterance” Verse 32 – “If someone comes in the house with the spirit of prophecy, they are subject to the prophet of that house. So the prophet of the house has the authority to rebuke that word. They have the spirits of prophecy, but the prophet has the spirit. The Spirit is there to check the spirits.” “ In Amos we will also understand that God allowed calamity for His people to return back to him. Calamity isn’t always necessary for us to obey. If obedience is not your first option, then calamity is your first choice if you belong to God. So it would behoove you to obey the first time.” “ Like Amos, many of us were called from something. The disciples were called from fishing: Elijah plowing the field, Amos from breeding, and we were called out of our sins to follow God.” “ This walk requires a dynamic devotion and your ability to allow God to captivate your heart. God says, "I’m showing you all these signs and wonders but I don’t have the ability to captivate you.” When He can’t captivate your heart that means there’s something stony in there. "Nothing I seem to do works for you, so now I have to send a messenger to come send you a message."” “ If you’re wrong it’s nothing you can do. When you’re wrong and you let Jesus be right that’s when you’ll be right. You can’t fix it, because that’s when you start proving stuff to man.” Proverbs 27:17

“ The only way we can really be of good use to each other is to stay sharp. You need to be sharpened because you’re dull. Sometimes the constant use of having a dull person rub up against you all the time causes you to become dull. Being around the same person, no talking about anything that glorifies God makes you dull and people pretend to be sharpened when they come in the house of God. Dullness causes you to no longer be sharpened in areas. You lose sharpness in realness, in hearing, in seeing, in believing, and in discernment. There’s a mandate and a requirement to stay sharp to discern when there are people around you to dull you.” “ Many deal with dullness by running. Sin is around, that’s because you’re not sharp enough.” “ When you let unsharpened objects rub against you long enough you get rusty and that’s when you have to ask you for oil, and only the oil can get off the debris.” “ The oil is the Word of God.” “ The anointing of God and the blessings of the Holy Spirit makes our warfare effective.” “ It's just like the tin man: "I need some oil in my knees because I’m not walking in the right direction. I need some oil in my ears because I’m not hearing the right stuff. I need some oil in my mind because I need to be transformed by the Holy Spirit."” “ Don’t wait until you get like the tin man and wait until you get rusty." When you start hearing the squeaks, all you gotta do is read the word and believe it and He’ll apply it in the areas it needs to be.” “ Where do you being reading in the Bible? In the areas where you’re messed up.” “ You gotta do the outer part so God can do the rest, but people want Jesus to do it all.”

“ We have to get to the place where we emulate the good qualities we see. Many of us emulate the poor qualities we see.” “ We have to learn to put what is good to good use.” “ We have to come to a place where I’m fully persuaded that the spirit of the world (which shows up to inhibit my growth) will not grow and be replanted in me from what God has already rooted out. Once God applies that oil, you have to be fully persuaded, not brainwash yourself. Until you get persuaded don’t pretend to be persuaded because when you fake with persuasion you will end up deceived, playing games with yourself and brainwashing yourself, and that’s witchcraft. Look at that thing and say I’m not fully persuaded, but the persuasion isn’t coming from within, but from Him and its going to connect with my spirit and I’m gonna know.” Romans 12:2 “ Why do we need our minds transformed? You’re asking for something and you don’t know why. The reason you need your mind transformed is because when you were born you were programmed by the spirit of the world. You are still programmed by the worlds standards if you still talk like the world, think like the world, walk like the world, and believe like the world.” “ Every time you are faced with opposition, you act just like the world and start professing stuff when you know there’s power in the tongue. Jesus makes a way out of no way for His children who are serving Him in Spirit and in truth and if you are serving Him and you’re not gonna believe Him what’s the point? Are you really serving Him?” “ Your servitude ought to reflect that Jesus is Lord all the time.”

“ Just like God told us Amos means burden bearer, so anytime you need something to come out of you, call Moses. Jesus said "I know that you know Jesus, but I want to know if you know who I’ve used other people as who represent Me." Anything that’s in your life that has the spirit of the world, you must speak Moses over it, I speak the spirit of Moses to draw out those world spirits that try to hinder your growth. You hollering Jesus, but nothing is working because you don’t know Him? Try Moses...its still a type of Christ. Nobody say pray to Moses, but speak Moses and give Jesus the credit, this will let Jesus know that you know how He works.” “ If you are chosen by God to do anything for Him, He named according to His use. God names His property because He has to call it according to the time that He needs it to show up and you need to be ready.” “ Amos didn’t want to be known as a professional prophet nor did he have a professional background. One who thinks of themselves as a professional can’t do a professionals job. So you can’t do the professional job of God if you think you’re a professional. God uses people like Amos because he was a common man with an uncommon message.” “ Many fall because they get offended by the message. Many have mixed rebuke with love. Somebody’s trying to love you. People do that to play mind games and that’s how you can tell who ain’t living right and who’s attached themselves to something they have no business being around.” “ If God sends somebody to you with a message it should be a sign that He loves you, but people take it as something that offends their spirit.” “ If you get offended by rebuke, then your next step is reprobation because you’re making light of his chastening you, like Jesus is simple minded or something.” “ Amos is a book or warning that judgment is coming.”

“ When richness is higher than righteous, He has to show up and do something. God will now allow politics and richness to become higher than His anointing.” “ During the time of Amos, idolatry was rapid, the rich were living luxurious, the poor were oppressed, the judiciary system was corrupt, and the same stuff is happening now. People began to interpret their prosperity as a sign of God blessing them and God’s patience was exhausted and He sent Amos with a message that punishment was inevitable if they did not change their hearts.” “ When you don’t understand what God is trying to do, the best thing to do is wait and let go.” “ During the time of Amos, because the people thought they were prosperous, they deceived themselves into believing that they had the blessings of God. They felt that they were doing things in the name of God with the money that never came from God.” “ That’s why the politicians are involved in building those big churches that look like arena's because they’re gonna turn it into one. That’s why they don’t care how people build them.” “ It's not time for royalty on this earth. This is not the time to walk around glamorous. This is not real prosperity and richness. Stay low, don’t get caught up in it, but people start spending and spending and get caught up into idolatrous ideas.” What material prosperity leads to is religiousness and corruption. This is why Jesus has to get the religiousness out of you before He can give you prosperity. If He gives you money before He gets the religiousness out of you, you’re gonna become religious.” “ Prosperity covers up the fact that there is a spiritual poverty.” “ God is trying to break you and establish Himself in your broken place, but some of us get bitter that He’s broken us.”

“ When you understand that you’re not the professional but He is, He will give you a style. See, when you have to pretend like you’re poor when you’re really rich He will give you a style, accompanied with skillfulness that only you can use (it’s a skill for your style). The whole idea is to make you think that everything is prosperous to pull the trueness out of the remnant to make the remnant respond out of a false alarm.” “ True religion demands righteousness.” “ From this whole prosperity, this is how the Lord allows us to understand the difference between the Gentiles and the Jews. The gentiles confess adoption but can’t handle real prosperity. They begin to market Jesus as big business and they have taken the word out of context and have literally picked Jesus up and moved Him where they feel like they can profit. The gentiles are a nation or a people who don’t know whose they are.” “ A real Jew can handle an adopted prosperity. The gentiles can’t handle a real prosperity anointing. Jews don’t get caught up adopted prosperity because it’s not real, it didn’t come from Jesus. So while everybody is going around buying airplanes, the real Jews are laying low.” “ Just like “Coming to America ”, we can no longer walk around poor in spirit. He became nothing, but didn’t brag about what he had and that’s the calling of the real church...become nothing while they are prospering.” “ He just needs us to rest in His presence and know that He is God and able and just forgive everything that we’ve done.” “ You need to make sure the people you have let in your life have a new name. If they don’t have a new name, they’re dull. I don’t have to tell you that you’re not new, that’s God job. But God’s job is to show me by discernment and protection of my salvation that you’re not new yet. Just like Saul and the road to Damascus, people who have same name may be on the road to persecute you or find accusations against you.” “ Be careful what you take from people who are not saved.”
