January 2017 ICF Colorado Newsletter

  1. 1. January 2017 Message from Dr. Lisa Hale 2017 President Happy New Year ICF-CO Community! May 2017 be an inspired year for you and all you touch! That's what we do, isn't it? We touch others. We coach others to be their most inspired selves. In order to do that we must keep the four pillars of a prosperous coaching practice rock solid. What are they you ask? 1. Coach a lot. This means to coach and serve often and deeply. No activity allows you to improve your own skill better than doing it, and getting active feedback (through results and through running game tape on your sessions with your coach). Remember, The most prosperous coaches are in fact superb at what they do. 2. Be coached by an excellent coach. Find someone who is where you want to be as a coach to work with you; or someone who has skills or an approach that you can learn from. This supports a great practice (whatever size and type you wish) by advancing your ability to coach; by keeping your inner world clean of unconscious baggage; and by helping you be guided to create exactly what you wish to create in your life and practice. This keeps your tank full so that you may serve others. Finally, it is very difficult to believe in the value of coaching if you are not yourself willing to invest in it for yourself. 3. Invest in your own professional development. Invest in expanding your skills, your personal growth and your knowledge. Books, videos, courses, and programs all contribute to your professional development. 4. Be part of a community of excellent coaches. This is why our community, ICF-CO is such a boon to each and every one of us. Create great relationships with other coaches. 2. 2. Just today, I was coached by someone wonderful. This person is part of our community of coaches. I was asked a question (naturally): What is great about that for you? This question is not particularly extraordinary. The space to explore that question however, is extraordinary. This is what we bring to the people we serve. Our chapter is here to serve you, so that you may best serve others. Please look for our board announcement/vote email coming to you under separate cover in the next week. Wishing you a wonderful transition into 2017, Dr. Lisa Hale President Lisa@focusedleadershipconsulting.com 505-690-3354 MEMBERS IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Dana Wodtke I’m a dating and career coach for people that are ready to live the life they want! In addition, we will be honoring members who have recently attained a new ICF credential. Whether your interest is in obtaining the ACC, the PCC or the MCC credential, if you have questions about the credential process, the right pathway for you (ACTP, or ACSTH or portfolio) and the requirements for each credential, please contact Walt Hastings at 303-526-9490 or e-mail at walthastings@hotmail.com Suzanne Mariner and Carl Dierschow, 2017 Education Directors Carl Dierschow and Suzanne Mariner are looking forward to serving the chapter as Co-Education Directors.
