What are impacts?--The Results Chain Numbers Impacts are long term developmental results at the societal level linked to the goal or vision. combination of outputs and outcomes, but are not the direct results of a single project or program. E.g.. Improved livelihoods, poverty eradicated….. Outcomes are medium term, end of project developmental results benefiting an identified target population that are achievable within the time frame of the project. E.g. Increased effectiveness of NBDC partners in .... Increased uptake of practices by farmers.... Activity: ULTIMATE IMPACT OUTCOME Processes /Approaches: E.g Innovation Platforms OUTPUT Outputs are the short term, immediate, visible and concrete and tangible results that are the immediate consequences of project inputs and activities. Measurement of livelihoods impacts Components of the livelihood framework: Livelihood assets Livelihood strategies Context (institutional and vulnerability) Livelihood outcomes At higher scales (more hh), the indicators for livelihood outcomes are often the standard welfare indicators (income, nutrition, assets) Many studies use mixed methods (Q2) at multiple scales
