Low-cost simulation in the global
health arena

International Network for Simulation-based Pediatric Innovation, Research and Education
• Establish a repository for the global health community working in limited-resource
settings
• Survey memberships of large medical and nursing organizations, nursing and
medical schools, medical and surgical residencies working abroad, global health
fellowships, simulation fellowships, NGOs, PEARS program coordinators with
AHA, Helping Babies Breathe program with AAP/Laerdal and ETAT/ETAT+
programs which are available through the World Health Organization.
• Information focusing on low-cost simulation projects, barriers, and needs will be
made available through an openplatform.

• Email: ACEP International & Pediatric Membership, IMSH
membership (March 2014)
• Survey: IPSSW, GEMA ( April –June 2014)
• Survey:Disseminated to an expansive number of organizations
to help to identify the key stakeholders involved in low-cost
simulation (May 2014-August 2014)
• STAKEHOLDERS (identified through preliminary survey) involved in
low-cost simulation in limited resource settings: question specific on
sharing of curriculum, cases and research/publications
– Timeline: August 2014 – Jan 2015 (3 cycles) with follow up emails

Low-cost simulation global health progress report

  • 1. Progress Report Presentation: Low-cost simulation in the global health arena Moro-Sutherland D, Grover E, JacquetG, Langevin M, Meaney P. International Network for Simulation-based Pediatric Innovation, Research and Education
  • 2. • Establish a repository for the global health community working in limited-resource settings • Survey memberships of large medical and nursing organizations, nursing and medical schools, medical and surgical residencies working abroad, global health fellowships, simulation fellowships, NGOs, PEARS program coordinators with AHA, Helping Babies Breathe program with AAP/Laerdal and ETAT/ETAT+ programs which are available through the World Health Organization. • Information focusing on low-cost simulation projects, barriers, and needs will be made available through an openplatform.   • 3. • A central repository where educators, learners and/or volunteers can go, to become knowledgeable on low-cost simulation programs and/or projects InternationalNetwork forSimulation-based PediatricInnovation, Research and Education Aim: Expected Outcome

  • 5. • Low-cost simulation in the global health arena survey – Timeline: March 2014 - September 2014 • Email: ACEP International & Pediatric Membership, IMSH membership (March 2014) • Survey: IPSSW, GEMA ( April –June 2014) • Survey:Disseminated to an expansive number of organizations to help to identify the key stakeholders involved in low-cost simulation (May 2014-August 2014) • STAKEHOLDERS (identified through preliminary survey) involved in low-cost simulation in limited resource settings: question specific on sharing of curriculum, cases and research/publications – Timeline: August 2014 – Jan 2015 (3 cycles) with follow up emails InternationalNetwork forSimulation-based PediatricInnovation, Research and Education Timeline: Survey
