Arvind Krishan is an Indian architect, urban designer, and planner, known for his innovative and sustainable designs that integrate traditional Indian architecture with modern techniques and materials. He was born in 1956 in Delhi, India. Krishan received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi in 1980, and his Master of Architecture in Urban Design degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1985. He has worked on a variety of architectural projects in India and internationally, including housing, schools, hospitals, and hotels. Krishan is also a noted urban planner and has been involved in several urban design and planning projects in India, such as the Delhi Metro Rail project and the redevelopment of Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest and busiest markets in Delhi. He is an advocate for sustainable design and has been involved in several green building projects, such as the development of the Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, a government office building in Delhi that is LEED Platinum certified.
  3. AS A PROFESSOR: Krishan is a professor at the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, where he has been teaching since 1988. He has also been a visiting faculty member at several universities in India and abroad. As a professor, he has played an important role in shaping the education and training of future architects and urban designers in India. He has been a strong advocate for sustainable design and has encouraged his students to incorporate environmentally friendly design principles into their work. AWARDS: Krishan has received several awards and honors for his work, including the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and the HUDCO Design Award. He is the founder of Arvind Krishan Design Studio, which is based in Delhi and specializes in architectural design, urban design, and planning.
