Posting links to linked in
1. Posting Links to LinkedIn
If you come across an article that is interesting and you think that your LinkedIn network,
groups, or an individual should read it as well, posting couldn’t be simpler. The easiest
way is to click on the “inShare” button. Should a website not have this button, you will
have to actually go to LinkedIn to post it, more on that later.
2. Once the inShare button has been clicked, a popup window will appear. From here you
can add comments, post to twitter, change the share settings i.e., make it public or
private; you can even change the website’s description if you don’t like it. You can also
post to any one of your groups or to individual people.
3. To post to a group, all you need to do is to type in the first letter of the group name and a
dropdown menu will appear giving you a list of groups that start with said letter. This can
be really useful if you forget how many different groups you belong to because you
wouldn’t want to post the wrong article to the wrong group. You can give it a subject line
which will then appear as a discussion topic within the group, and you can follow it up
with a little summary if you so choose.
4. If you don’t want to post to a group but you would rather post it to an individual or
individuals, you could choose that option too. As you can see above LinkedIn has added
a new feature that makes sharing a link easier. In the “To” box if you start typing
someone’s name a dropdown menu will appear, similar to finding a group to post to. For
the sake of everyone’s privacy this has not been fulfilled. Now, with this new feature, you
can share with people who are not even on LinkedIn. Just type in their email address
and press the “Share” button.
5. Posting a link from inside your LinkedIn profile is pretty straight forward. If you find a link
that would go over well within your network, just click “Attach a link”, paste the link,
manage the settings in the new that window that pops up after clicking and your done.
You can even post the same link to twitter as well. Once you are satisfied with
everything, click the “Share” button and you’re done.
