    Red Hat Enterprise Linux, the leading commercial Linux distribution, and the leading contributor to the Linux kernel, works very closely with Intel to enable and tune each Xeon platform before public launch. Systems are enabled for bare metal, virtualization and Cloud deployments. Support for Mission Critical applications hosted on RHEL demands advanced error reporting such as PCIe-AER, new I/O technologies such as PCIe 3.0 and USB 3.0, advanced management capabilities such as ACPI 5.0 and advanced monitoring capabilities such as Performance Monitoring Unit (PMU). Red Hat and Intel engineers work very closely to enable and support these features as quickly as possible. All of these features are complemented by the NUMA and RAS features in RHEL & in KVM. RHEL takes this one step further and will be the only known hypervisor vendor to have guests be able to use Random Number Generators to increase the entropy of a virtual machine and offload the host to do more work.

    Scalability and Performance are never a question with RHEL or KVM. Scalability in RHEL-- 4096 CPUs & 64 TB of memory, provide tremendous overhead for any enterprise. Are you heavily virtualized?     Workload Introduction
    The SAS mixed analytic workload represents the type of SAS processing that roughly 60% of SAS customers do today. This workload created a multi-user benchmarking scenarios to simulate the workload of a typical Foundation SAS or Base SAS / STAT customer. The goal of these scenarios is to evaluate the multi-user performance of SAS on various platforms. Various sized mixed analytic workloads were created to simulate many users utilizing CPU, RAM and I/O resources which SAS programs heavily utilize during typical program execution. The test was designed to mimic this workload and be scaled to represent different sized customer environments. In this specific case, 60 sessions of the workload are used.
