Human Resource
Human resource of an organization
Consist of all people who perform its
activities.
I.e. Manpower is only resourses
which doesn't depreciate with the
Passage of time.
Management
(OLD)
Management is an art of getting things
done through others.
(New)
Management is ant art of execution of the
plan.
Backbone of The Organization
(New) Management is an art of execution of the plan.
It’s mean:
The process in which organizational
resources are utilized efficiently &
effectively to achieve Organizational plan.
HRM
It is the function performed in organizations
that facilitates the most effective use of people
(Employee) to achieve organizational &
individual goals.
.
Deals with Policies & practice
involved in carrying out people or
human resources aspect of a
management position recruiting etc.
It is a management function that helps managers to recruit ,select , train,
& develops manpower for an organization.
Management Essentials:
Management is the process of efficiently achieving
objectives of the Organization with and through
people.
Primary Function OF Management:
 Planning
 Organizing
 Staffing
 Controlling
Planning
Involve selecting mission and objectives as well as the
action to achieve.
Organizing
The part of managing which involve establishing an international
structure of rule for people to fill in as organization.
Staffing:
The process of recruiting ,selecting and training of men.
Controlling:
Controlling is a fundamental function of management that ensures
achievement of goals according to plans. The absence of control could be
very costly and unproductive.
It is an essential feature of scientific and successful management.
HRM GOALS
Staffing
(Strategic human resource,Recuring,Selection)
Training and Development
(Orientation, Employee training and Development, career development)
Maintaining
(Safety and health, Communications, Employee relation)
Motivation
(Motivation theories and job design, performance appraisals,
Rewards and Compensation, Employee Benefits )
⁕ Staffing:
• Activities in HRM Concerned with seeking & hiring qualified
employees.
• Recruitment is perceived as initial step in staffing function .
• For Proper recruitment employment planning must be embarked by HR
manager.
• Putting the right men on the right job.
• Recruitment achieve two goals.
I. To obtain an adequate pool of candidates.
II. Provide enough information about the job to head off
unqualified applicants.
⁕Training And Development :
Activities in HRM Concerned with assisting employees to
develop up to date skills, knowledge and abilities the activities
include;
 Employees training: Designed to assist employees in
acquiring better skills in their current job .Focus: current job
skill requirement .
 Employees Development: Designed to help employees
assure that it has the necessary talent internally for meeting
human resource needs. Focus: Future Positions in the
organization for which employees require additional
competence .
⁕MOTIVATION:
Motivating employees requires a level of respect between management &
the workers I.e. Involving employees in decision , listening them &
implementing their suggestions where appropriate.
Managing Motivation includes:
 Job design
 Setting performance standards
 Establishing Effective compensation & benefits programs.
 Understanding motivational theories.
⁕ Maintaining Function :
Activities in HRM concerned with maintaining employees commitment and
loyalty to the organization.
 Objectives is to retain productive employees.
 Employees Should know what is happening around them.
 HRM must realize that any problem an employee faces in his person
al life will ultimately be brought into the workplace .This calls for
employee assistance programs.
 There should be appropriate Communication Programs in the
Organization ,employees should know what is happening around
them through company’s intranet , bulletin , meetings etc.
