3. Brief Background
Pathao is on-demand Bangladeshi ride sharing app based company. And it is getting more popular
as more days passing by. Pathao started its journey in October, 2015 as a mean of delivery service
for several e-commerce company in Bangladesh. It was only an idea or concept back then said Mr.
Hussain M Elius (Founder) in an interview with future start-up. Fahim Saleh and Shifat Adnan are
two other founder of Pathao. Pathao evolved since then. In mid-2016, Pathao started its app based
bike sharing services in Dhaka city which became popular instantly. It was a new thing back then
but people accepted the service gladly. Because Dhaka city has one of the worst traffic jam in the
world. And by using bike sharing services, people could avoid most of the traffic jam. Pathao
registered more than millions of users in 2018 across the country. Pathao launched its service in
Nepal in September same year. Pathao got enlistment certificate from the authorities in Bangladesh
in late 2019. Pathao expanded its business. It currently provides ride sharing services through
motorcycles and cars, on-demand currier and parcel and recently added food delivery service in
the major cities i.e. Dhaka, Gazipur, Chittagong, Sylhet and several cities in Nepal. Pathao’s
current net worth is 100 million USD. Pathao’s headquarter situated in Dhaka.
