3. Introduction
The Branding Opportunity:
We’re introducing a unique branding opportunity that ties in directly with the goodwill of the Olympics and will reach
more than 1,000,000 people a week. We’ve secured space front and centre at two of London’s busiest railway stations
to host up to 36 images at a time: St Pancras International & Stratford International.
The Portraits
This is an exhibition based on 650 Olympic Game Makers and Volunteers from London 2012, taken during the 2012
Olympic Games on the streets of London and at the Olympic Park during the Paralympic Games.
Each volunteer was asked to simply think about and convey the feeling the Games instilled in them. The project shows
a cross-section of the proud volunteers who gave their time so selflessly. It is because of them that these games have
been called The Volunteer Games.
This set of images represents a unique opportunity to take advantage of the goodwill created during London 2012.
While others opted to photograph the volunteers in a setting that spoke of the venues and glamorous locations they
were working in, my aim was to give everyone equal footing, putting the concentration squarely on them as a person.
In this way, the person stationed in a tunnel received the same attention as the person working in the stadium.
As a body of work they represent the commitment and enthusiasm with which our country has embraced these games.
The volunteers have made a lasting impact on our society and culture, they have brought out the best of Britain.
6. Social Media buzz
Viral/Social Media Strength:
- The project already has significant viral strength - in the last few weeks we've had in excess of 750,000 impressions
including Twitter mentions by some of Team GBs top athletes including Greg Rutherford, Victoria Pendleton, Paula
Radcliffe and presenter Mark Foster, as well as over 100 other athletes.
- The project went straight to the top of the Olympics section of popular social news site Reddit.

Reached, bringing the total reach to 10,000,000 people per month.
